What a fantastic brunch spot!! Very busy atmosphere but not hectic or chaotic. Good busy, I suppose. The service was great. Our server was attentive and personable even with a party of 12 on a busy Saturday brunch rush. We absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered. Probably one of the best biscuits and chicken and waffles we’ve had in this area. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The biscuits just melts in your mouth. It was warm crusty outside and soft and fluffy inside. Oh, and their Bloody Mary was on point!! Was not expecting pickled okra as a garnish but great call on the okra. Love, love, loved it!!
Due South exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was fantastic, offering a delightful blend of Southern flavors that left my taste buds in awe. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided top-notch service, making us feel right at home. The waterfront view added an extra layer of charm to our dining experience. I can't recommend Due South enough for a memorable and delicious Southern cuisine adventure.
It was all fun and games until I spotted a lil mousy on the ground. To be clear, the team at Due South took care of the situation and shooed him away. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 How it started: walked right in for our resy. We opted to dine al fresco. The table was ready. Our server was prompt and efficient. We were slow and chatty. After 2 visits to our table we ordered drinks and biscuits How it went: the biscuits arrived, and were good with the signature jam & butter. The food order went in, and food arrived quickly. Temp was right. Food was tasty. How it ended: our server must've gotten tired of checking in with us. She went and had a seat and pulled out her phone to wait until we were ready. I would recommend it and I would return.
I had the Brussel sprouts and the gumbo entree special. It was so good. Mike the assistant manager is awesome. He was very personable and professional. We will be back
Beautiful restaurant at the Yards. We had brunch and the menu isn't so extensive but everything was delicious. I had the egg and chicken biscuit with home fries and my friend's had the chicken and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their meals and service was good too. I would go for drinks and dinner another time.
Best meal I’ve had in DC and the service ain’t no joke either! The collards, Mac & Chesse, the jalapeño sausage and don’t forget that fried chicken, all will make Republicans & Democrats kiss and make up, will balance the budget, and even eliminate the need or desire for Presidential elections. This place is just that good! 😂 “Due South Will Not Disappoint!👍🏾♥️😉👏
Wasn’t completely what I expected at first but the visit turned out nice with great service. We did an happy hour visit and tried a few sharable plates which were all really good.
Great location in view of the river. I came for happy hour, enjoy two glasses of the house white wine, Chicken sliders, and the corn and crab fritters. The service was surprisingly slow, considering it was less than five people in the restaurant, but sometimes it be like that. I’d recommend coming for happy hour.
The food is so good, I look forward to eating here again the next time that I am in DC. A plate was created for someone in my family who wanted something specific. I thought that was very nice. The service was great & attentive. Not a lot of variety
