The location is great. The view from the room was outstanding. But, the tiny pillows were lumpy, as if they were filled with balls of yarn. The sliding glass door was nearly inoperable, very difficult to open and more difficult to close. The air conditioner barely kept up and was super loud. The oversized jacuzzi worked but the control for the jets did nothing - they were stuck on low. The pool and common patio was closed / roped-off. Overall this property is like many others on the Daytona strip, old, tired and in need of major renovation.

We just stayed here for a little weekend getaway. We had stayed here in the past and it was amazing. I am sorry to say with the new owners of the place have let it go down hill fast. First, the rooms are dirty. They used to be so clean. We had to have our sheets replaced because they were dirty. They only gave us 2 towels, which were stained. The bathroom was gross. I wanted to leave, but they said the "corporate office" would not give a refund. The pool is still not repaired from the hurricane and there is not even a place to rinse off your feet after you return from the beach. There used to be hammocks and tables with umbrellas, they are gone. It was really sad to see a place that was once so beautiful, just let go of.

As of April 2024, this property is still recovering from the 2022 and 2023 storm seasons. Bathrooms are nicely renovated, floors and linens are updated. Classic 2-story motel layout, but parts of it have been updated. Pool and seawall were still under construction during our visit, but a grassy courtyard area in the rear of building is nice for sitting and viewing the beach. Room was clean and beds comfy. Oceanfront units have a great view and pleasant back porches. The soft-sand drive-on-beach ramp for Volusia County called "EL PORTAL" gets a bit rowdy mid-day, but this location is was quiet at night and in the morning. The beach ramp access (for 4-wheel drive vehicles only) runs through the paved parking area of this hotel, but the sandy ramp area is closed to vehicles at high tide. The EL PORTAL beach ramp is free and convenient for walkers and cyclists at any time.

Our second stay here. Pictures very deceitful, grounds are run down, pool not finished from hurricane damage, unable to watch opening ceremonies of Olympics, Roku and TV was not working. They came to room twice and no sorry nothing. No spare TP, 2 sets of towels shower head a disaster along with sink faucet falling off. Best part of the trip was breakfast pizza from Bliss Beach across the street. Very disappointed

I normally don’t leave reviews but I stayed here for a night because my place was getting renovations done. The lights were broken, constant flickering. The AC is up on a wall in the kitchen area so it’s impossible for the room to stay cool and I was sweating all night long, I maybe got two hours of sleep. The WiFi did not work either. It’s by the ocean so obviously you can’t complain about location and the gentleman up front was very nice but this room was not worth the money at all. Not to mention the walls are extremely thin and you can hear EVERYTHING 🤦🏻‍♀️ I left at 7 AM this morning because I couldn’t get out soon enough.

The pictures on the website do not reflect the actual room or facility. The air conditioners are in the wall near the ceiling and impossible to adjust unless you are a giant. We had the two room with kitchen suite., ocean view, which was a joke. It was on the main street and one window allowed a slight view of the ocean over the roof of an adjoining building. Curtain rods had no pulls to close. The refrigerator was. two under counter refrigerators, as in a college dorm. Sink was very small, stove a two burner. Very few pieces of silverware and no dishcloth or towel. One bedroom has the sitting area and table. the second bedroom has no closet, only hooks on the wall to hang clothes on. The hairdryer didn't work. Only half of the toaster worked No towel racks or luggage rack in the second bedroom or baths. The floor was gritty and dirty and the pool was empty. .The beautiful patio depicted on the website pictures overlooked a busy street and the furniture was sparce and dirty and was shared with another room. I can't imagine how anyone would give this a 4 rating. We left early and would never return or recommend this facility to anyone. It could be made better but it hasn't succeeded thus far. Disappointed from PA.

I booked this hotel as a weekend getaway for my Mans Bday and started reading reviews AFTER I booked...was a little worried to be honest BUT went hoping for the best and it was GREAT! Cute little motel on the beach, very clean and smelled good, you can tell someone puts a lot of time and effort into the place. I think folks are forgetting that Daytona was hit BACK TO BACK with hurricanes not too long ago and there is still a lot of destruction and clean up happening from that. We have to keep little gems like this alive and thriving so they can be returned to their PRE-HURRICANE glory, support small business and not the HILTON Franchise. I would def. stay here again and cant wait to see the pool area once its finished being rebuilt :)

You cannot beat the price for the location. You are literally steps from the beach. The room was decent and looked recently upgraded. The only thing I did not like was the bright light by the front door outside which shines straight through the glass on the front door. Makes it very bright in the room at night and hard to sleep.
