Downtown Value Inn - Motel in Portland - 415 SW Montgomery St, USA

Large room. Comfy bed. 24 hour service desk. Parking available but the spaces are small. There was no plug for the bathtub; I used a washcloth to keep the water in. Also no extra toilet paper and no conditioner. (There was shampoo.) The hotel needs to increase its sustainability and get rid of all of those little plastic bottles.

The entire building needs a serious clean. It's absolutely filthy. There's only one single trash can for the room. They do NOT clean your room at all during your stay. We had to go down for new towels and toilet paper... as we were there 3 nights and not once was anything replaced. The parking is a nightmare. Unless you have a small compact car, don't bother.

You can't beat the location and the price. It's right on the tram line so of course it's a little noisy but you're in downtown anyways and you can't be the convince of a stop right in front of your motel. It's in the safer side of Portland with the university right next door. We felt totally comfortable walking back from the Keller after a late show. Room was dated but perfectly clean. Free parking is a huge plus although the spots are a little snug our Venza did just fine. Front staff was exceptionally friendly.

We needed a simple, clean and safe place to stay when traveling to Portland for a medical procedure. Downtown Value Inn was close, and the price was excellent for our budget. Everything was satisfactorily clean and fresh, and my mom who is definitely pickier than I, was very pleas well.

Positive: The motel is right on the tram line so easy access to public transportation. Location is in the nicer part of Portland so felt totally safe walking around, especially with campus police so close by. Negative: The tram is a little noisy at night but it didn't make it hard to sleep. Rooms are dated but perfect for what we needed. Negative: ""

The place is located near the Portland State University campus in downtown, Portland, making it one of the most easily accessible places in the city. There are major public transport stations all around just one block away, and street food carts are only one or two blocks away. The rent is cheap. The only concern I had was the cleanliness, as the floor of the rooms are quite dirty. They should sweep more. But overall, if you are looking for a place to enjoy portland without spending much, I would recommend this.

Negative 1) there is long black hair everywhere in the room , even in the bed. Not a hair, but balls of hair. Also long black hair on the wall in the bathroom. It was disgusting. 2) no kettle . All hotels/motels must have it or coffee maker. You won't be able to drink tea or coffee. 3) if you check into a room viewing the street you will not be able to sleep untill 2 am, as the trams, buses and cars are very noisy. And your morning will start very early 4)there is one small trash can in the room. It s in bathroom. It s very uncomfortable. 5) there is no elevator in the motel. 6) veeery small and uncomfortable parking. If you have big car or no one guide you, you can easily damage it. 7) Maybe in the future they will renovate it, but at the moment everything is old and hallways don't smell good. Positive The location is wonderful. It s located in the downtown and you can walk around the downtown. But we won't go back there again

Felt like it was under construction, half painted walls, dirty floors, room numbers hanging off the walls. Parking is VERY TIGHT, careful not to ding your or someone else’s vehicle. Great location, but very noisy with the tram right outside the building.
