Hotel was extremely clean, which is a big plus for me. The bed was super comfortable and the room had coffee, microwave and fridge! Breakfast was very good with a variety of food, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the nighttime noise. Better to ask for a room on the poolside! Will definitely be returning.

This is an older hotel but it's kept very well maintained. The location is unbeatable and priced very reasonably. Park at the hotel and walk into downtown or downhill to the breweries. Nearly everything is within a ten minute walk. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The walls however are paper thin. You will hear everyone and everything. You might want to consider earplugs or a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper especially if you are on the Patton street side. Breakfast is free but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. I guess it's nice to grab a free cup of OJ to sip before you walk to a good breakfast or brunch place downtown. Overall I'd pretty much always stay here when visiting Ashville as long as the prices stay reasonable.

We enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect for walking around to breweries and restaurants downtown (3-10 minute walk to many places). The free breakfast included waffles, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, cereals, bagels, and assorted fruit. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. We did notice that people who live nearby are not allowed to stay in this hotel which was weird to us, but we were from out-of-state so it didn't affect us. Great view of the mountains from one side of the balcony. The pool area looked nice, but we didn't use it during our stay. Definitely some road noise, but not horrible.

While this is an older hotel (built in the '60s). I enjoyed my stay. The price was very reasonable ($409.06) for three nights, four days. While breakfast is basic (cereal, waffles, bagels, microwaveable Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, coffee, and juices), you can find something to get you started for the day. I loved the idea of staying downtown making it easy to get to all the places we wanted. Too, this hotel as very close to the Grove arcade, visitor center, lots of cool shops and restaurants. The walking distance from this hotel to these places varies from 1 to 3 minutes depending on where you want to go. The staff was wonderful and patient. If you want someplace in the downtown area, give this hotel a try. The parking is free, but tight at the hotel, however, there is an overflow area next to the hotel.

Very nice hotel in Downtown Asheville. The room was equipped with a microwave and fridge. Beds were comfy and AC worked great and wasn't to loud. The room was also super clean. We had a dip in the pool, which was really great, as it was hot. Breakfast was also pretty decent. Nothing particularly exciting, but good to last you till dinner. The location is great and allows one to walk through downtown Asheville.

It's an old, dated hotel, but it's in a great location, and it was clean. The problem with this hotel is the parking lot. The spots and lot are tiny. It's challenging to get in and out of spots. Someone dented my trucks fender and didn't leave any information or anything, just a hit and run.

You should judge this hotel/motel fairly. It is obviously an older, worn property that shows its age and some warts. Management will point to investments they have made to improve the property, and they may still be doing so...but if I give this a 9 out of 10 rating, it isn't because the property is the Taj Mahal. That said, this motel is in an excellent downtown location. It is 1/3rd the price of other downtown hotels. So while this motel is pretty much no frills, basic accomodations - the value is undeniable. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. There was plenty of hot water. The free breakfast, while fairly basic, is another money saver. Many downtown hotels do not offer this, and dining in downtown can get expensive quickly (especially when you are not alone, we are two adults and two teenagers vacationing - free breakfast saved us $40-50 a day if we had to eat breakfast out after tip). Also, free parking at the motel is another money saver when some hotels charge you $25 a day to park. If you like the idea of staying downtown so you can walk to see all the shops/restaurants/etc., but can't afford $200+ a night, you would do well to consider the Downtown Inn and Suites.

My sister and stayed here for a wkd trip. I wasn't so sure about it because it looks dated. But let me tell you, I used to clean condos and beach houses so I pay great attention to detail when it comes to cleaning and our room was spotless!! I was truly impressed!!! The location is close to everything, the staff was great as well. But if you are a light sleeper and plan on staying here, choose a room that has a pool view. We had a room with a street view and you can hear everything! But it was definitely cool to people watch lol. I will definitely stay here again, and it's reasonably price!
