Downtown Chief - American restaurant in Gadsden - 210 Locust St, USA

This was my first time at this restaurant. I found it doing a Google search of local places. Everything we had was awesome. Appetizers were cheese sticks, steak quesadilla, and fried green tomatoes. The green tomatoes were exceptionally tasty. The trashcan fries were a fun order for my 17 year old. The burgers were great and my daughter had a mac n cheese grilled cheese. The fries were good and the onion rings were good. Our server Katherine was super nice. She checked on us multiple times and brought us the things we asked for. They also had a sweet young lady singing some songs with an acoustic guitar. Her name was Savannah Byers and she had a nice voice. It was a nice addition to a good meal. We all agreed that it is a place we would go back to.

My wife and I ate here on st patrick day weekend. The Cuban burger and philly cheesesteak were very good. The happy hour is awesome. Great resturant with a long bar to sit at. They had green beer that day and live music. I will definetly be back. Trash can fries we're good to. Nice restaurant for sandwiches and appetizers. After several visits over a few years this place is a keeper.

I love this place. Clean and spacious with a great atmosphere. The staff is very pleasant. The Plain Wings are anything but that. They are fried to perfection, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with plenty of seasoning. Add some ranch dressing and you can’t find better wings. The Onion Rings were very good. Just the right amount of onions vs batter. Browned and not greasy. The Fried Chicken Salad is great, a huge bowl of greens topped with purple onions, egg, cheese, tomato and lots of golden fried chicken and croutons. Quaint eating area outside is available. If you can’t find parking in the front, there is plenty across the street.

Place needs better organization and service. Walk in wait to be seated only two tables occupied at this time so not busy yet no one there to greet you as you walk in or there to seat you. Get seated give drink orders look over menu as first time here. Once ordered food which was an order of wings with a side salad (wanted salad as appetizer) because you don't eat cold food with hot food just doesn't sit right when one is with a fork and the other hand held ,you would be leaving your wings cold while you ate the salad or leaving the salad to wilt while you eat the wings. And a chicken tender basket with cheese fries. While waiting on food the server is gossiping and eating so had to ask another server to replace drink as the sweet tea was not good at all, tasted like a one bag no sugar brew. After a bit ask the original server how long would the salad be as another table had already received their "cooked" appetizer and they had ordered after us by a good ten mins. She comes back with all of the food defeating the purpose of the salad appetizer. Needed more sauce but our server not only had time to chat with fellow employees but eat her own lunch and step outside for a break, I get breaks but when not busy like that service should take priority and I shouldn't be able to watch you eat while waiting on my own food. The table we were sat at was super sticky and killed the vibe. Would train employees better. Star goes to the cook only. Salad portion was great value, fry portion was short for the value, tenders were overcooked and lacked seasoning, the wings were slightly on the smaller side but taste was good. The attitude of the staff was not welcoming facial expressions show more than their words did. And not just our server another table had to get their own napkins because at one time the entire staff was missing from view. I feel for the 25 top planning to come by later because if they can't handle 2 two tops that party is going to be disappointed. Did I mention we could hear the complaints of the server to attend said party. Would not recommend.

Food was great but we were seated & given menus then waited 15 minutes before she ever came back to take our order. They werent even busy. Will definitely try again though.

Saturday lunch didn't disappoint. Great service. Love the atmosphere. The entire group enjoyed the Trash Can fries. So yummy 😋 The burgers we had were all so good. Meatloaf sandwich was great. The slaw was some of the best I've had. Will definitely go back. Loved it.

Had a great time with friends listening to some great music. Food was amazing! Service was great! Best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had, just lettuce and pickles. The bun was very tasty! Sweet potato fries, spot on!

I found my new wing place! This is a spacious and clean, restaurant but lets talk food. The roasted wings are seasoned just right, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you don’t like sauce, these have a lot of taste and without the mess. The ranch dressing is homemade and delicious. Smoked Cuban Sandwich, this was a pulled pork and smoked ham sandwich, very good combination. The onion rings are perfection. Evenly cut onion slices, Light flour batter and not greasy at all. Mozzarella sticks were average. Egg rolls were pastry squares with a beans and cheese mixture, not bad just different. Fried green tomatoes had a flour batter like the onion ring with pepper jelly add. That made them unique, so if you are looking for traditional fried green tomatoes this will not be it. The service was excellent. Very helpful with recommendations and very attentive during our visit. We will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.
