Dover Inn & Suites - Hotel in Dover - 889 Commercial Pkwy, USA

I've stayed in my fair share of cheap hotels and not much bothers me. I was pretty excited when I came across this one.. supposedly the rooms were freshly renovated. The photos looked nice and the price was reasonable. The room we got put in was disgusting. It was NOT renovated and nothing like the photos. It was dingey, dirty, and there were spiders hanging out in the corners. There were no towels either. I always go for the cheapest hotels and can handle a lot but this one was the worst I've been in. There wasn't even a lot of people in the parking lot so not sure why they wouldn't have just placed us in a renovated room.

So we were so disappointed in this hotel. The pics make it look nice. We walked into the first room and it looked like it was falling apart and they just slapped some paint on it to cover it. The bathroom floor was a new floor that they put over a water damaged floor but did not repair it so the floor sunk in. The tub was so disgusting there was no way we were going to step foot in it. So we got moved to a different room that was a tad better. There were dead bugs not sure what kind all over the place the tub was still pretty gross but at least the floor was safe to walk on.

The images online are either not recent or enhanced. The place is very run down. The room smelled of mold. There were bugs and flies in the room. Looked like an active roach infestation with droppings and squished versions in the room. The back of the door was covered in some nasty splatter or things left from bugs. The bathroom was dirty and complete with hairs. Broken items in the room. The staff was completely rude to my wife. Very sexist in his attitude toward women. The location is good, but go somewhere else!!! Plenty of others down the road.

Overall a great stay! The motel is fairly priced with very pleasant front desk staff. Conveniently located right off the highway for travelers passing by. Local eateries were a nice addition to this location. Our room was recently renovated and we must admit the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept on during our cross country roadtrip. Thanks for the great stay. :)

Worst place I have ever stayed. I reserved 2 rooms for our group well in advance. Upon arrival, only 1 room was reserved. After 15 minutes, we got the second room. We went to my room and found 2 pillows and 2 sheets on each bed, no spread or blanket. I turned down the top sheet to find a stain ( I think dried blood) on the bottom sheet. Back to the office for a clean sheet. With the new sheet on, I went into the bathroom and found the bathtub dripping to a small stream and a dirty spot on the very loose toilet seat. Clorox wiped the seat for the wife. Then saw there were no towels in the room, so back to the office. I got 1 bath towels and 2 hand towels for 2 adults in the room. Later , we brought a fresh washed towel that was clean but still damp. Lastly, the refrigerator didn't work to cool our pop. Checked and found it was unplugged and the cord was too short to reach a plug. The bathroom had a small soap and shampoo. Both were sticky and half used already the other room had to change dirty sheets and couldn't use the fridge due to something spilled and dried all over the inside bottom. This place showed recently refurbished. It was repainted. The counter person said they had recently taken over as owners, and if so, they have a lot of work to do.

Room had an odd odor and there were flies and mosquitos in the room. The shampoo provided is in ketchup packets and is hard to open in the shower. Gentilemen at the desk was telling people there was no vacancy via the phone but was selling rooms to walk ins.

Booked a room through Priceline. Arrived at motel. Sign on lobby window says they’re short staffed and there’s a phone number. I call for fifteen minutes. No one answers. I drive the two hours back home. Priceline says they sent an email to the motel and haven’t heard back. So I am unable to get my refund.

I booked a reservation here. My flight arrived in Cleveland after midnight. When I got to this motel at 2AM, I picked up the phone at the front window and was told they gave my room away to another customer. They then lied to my travel agent about it.
