DoubleTree by Hilton Napa Valley American Canyon - Hotel in American Canyon - 3600 Broadway, USA

Check in was challenging, and there was obvious tension between staff members. Once I found my room, it smelled like wet dog and corn chips, which I’m assuming is due to the dampness of the carpet. I opened my first floor window to try and air it out, only to learn that one of the two window locks was completely missing. Speaking of locks, there is a sign outside the main door of the building which reads “For your protection, this door is locked at all times.” It was literally not locked at any time.||I will say the waitstaff in the hotel’s restaurant was friendly - definitely the only bright spot. I travel to NorCal a LOT and will definitely not be returning to this property.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The front desk receptionist Miss Aileen was very welcoming and nice. It was my first time checking in alone and she helped me enroll for Hilton Honors, and to get used to the hotel a little bit. My room was fairly clean and spacious which I liked. I have an issue with other hotel bathooms not having proper doors and locks, so I'm glad this hotel's bathroom made me feel comfortable with its privacy. I did expect a better view on the patio, but it was blocked by tall grasses and bushes. The other staff that I asked assistance with were also helpful. I had a good experience.

I've been a Hilton Honor member for 30 years so I asked my wife to find a "Hilton" branded hotel (I was driving) and she found this hotel. It was an absolute nightmare. We only needed the room for a few hours just to sleep, checked in at 10:30 pm and checked out at 8 am. ||We walked into the room and the temperature INSIDE the room was 102 degrees. The AC was turned off, so we turned it on and after a few hours the room became bearable, at least for the few hours we were going to be there. The refrigerator didn't work at all, the alarm clock cord was cut by scissors, or something similar, the TV remote did not work, probably just needed new batteries, the beds were rock hard and when you rolled over it felt like, and made noises like, it was about the break in half (no kidding). Also, the ice machine was inoperable. So we bought two sodas from the vending machine next to the ice machine and they were also room temperature. My wife and i just laughed at this point because we were so tired, and she said "Baby, were only here for 6 more hours so let's just hit the rack". We're both retired military and used to conditions like this in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan etc... But never America!||This was the absolute worst experience in a "Hilton" branded hotel in my life. When I checked out the guy at the counter asked if he could give us breakfast vouchers 😣. I told him we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel next door for half the price so he agreed to give us the room for a discounted rate, which was still much higher than the Fairfield Inn or Rooms2Suites (very nice hotel) which are adjacent to this hotel. In my 30+ years of traveling for my corporation I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay at the Home 2 Suites.....It's by far a superior hotel.

Hotel staff was friendly and patient with us during our check in process and stay! The lady at the front desk helped us get adjusted well to the hotel and city with her positivity and other front desk receptionists were professional with us and other customers. She was very patient with us during check in. Staff would always greet us when we passed by. The free cookies during check in are a nice treat! Location is a perfect distance between wine country and Six Flags, while also being affordable compared to other hotels in the area. The room was clean and spacious, and we are thankful the AC was working well. We were expecting a nice patio view of the lagoon, but the view was covered with tall bushes and grass. Overall, nice experience and good environment.

This hotel is a 3-star at best. We were given one key for the two guests staying, because their 'system' was down (for half of our stay if I might add). We had to argue with the front desk about the wifi password because our name couldn't be assigned to the room - we were finally given a code after 5 minutes. We stayed in the 'Mantis' room, and we've stayed at extended stays that are in better condition. There were scuff marks on the walls from furniture, corners that aren't vacuumed regularly, and don't get me started on the mismatched carpet on the stairs with staples visible and coming up. The miniature fridge worked very noisily, and there was no microwave. The only two good qualities about this hotel were the comfortable beds and the working AC unit. Management/owners - please visit the Broadmoor in Colorado to see what a true 5-star hotel is.

The room was basic, with a fridge, iron, coffee, and tv with satellite. It smelled a little musty. The pool area was a nice secluded environmen but was very small. Hot tub seats 5 and it was difficult to get the jets on. The gym area was tiny, but the equipment was nice. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, although I didn't like them banging around first thing in the morning in other rooms as they cleaned. I did expect it to be a bit better quality for the price.

Extremely fancy and nice check in. The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. But, I would not say the room was special in any way. The patio off the room was amazing. There were cherry trees and lemon trees producing fruit. Pretty cool.

Positive: The cookies Negative: It is so old and out dated. The room smelled bad when we walked in. No air fresheners or anything. It was disgusting. The whole building needs a ton of updates. The restroom is so old, the bed was not comfortable at all. I would not be staying here again
