I visited this hotel recently for my mom's and sister's birthday. The parking is expensive, but the location is fantastic. The rooms are small and an older hotel, but it looked to be well maintained. Kara checked me in, and she was very friendly and nice. She gave me some extra recommendations for food, and I appreciate her giving me them. This was not my first time in New Orleans. I come frequently, but I usually stay outside of the touristy areas. The service at this hotel was lacking. When we arrived, the valet was friendly, and we were told we had to get full service to bring our stuff up. However, when we left the bellhop, Jake was nowhere to be found. They will not let you get the cart, so we had to lug everything out because we had to go. I also asked for a few items from room service during our stay because I didn't get my room cleaned the days I was there. It was my choice, of course, and they were out of basic things like cups. I also asked for a blanket the first night and they said they were out. I feel like this is a Hilton, and we paid Hilton money, so in the future, they need to up their game.

I stayed it this hotel on August 9-12. Upon arrive the hotel staff was very friendly and kind. The front desk person was gracious enough to check me in early by assigning me a room that was ready. The problem came in the next morning when the person on the night shift gave a key to someone who was not on my reservation. Thank God, it was a friend and someone I knew. I had a friend who decided at the last minute, fly to NOLA. In my room was my brother and I. I was the only one on the reservations. The friend with last minute travel, meet at the hotel since he had arrived much earlier than I. We met in the lobby and awaited the arrival of my brother later that night. Upon my brothers, arrival, I gave him his key and I had the other key to our room. We went out that Friday night. My brother and I returned to our room at approximately 3:00 a.m. Around 6:30 a.m. we heard someone coming into our room. Got thing he was talking as he was entering, it just so happened to be our friend. I asked him how did he get in the hotel, up the elevator, and into our room without a key. He told me that he got a key from the person at the front desk. Mind you, his name was nowhere listed on the reservations. Nor did I get a call on my cell or room phone asking if I knew this person and/or grant access. At this point I am scared but more so heated that a key was issued to a complete stranger. I went to the front desk to inquire about the key policy and confirmed that what had been done was a complete violation of protocol. The manager offered to comp me one night. Unacceptable. My security was but in jeopardy, if other hotels would've been available, I would've left. When I asked the front desk for the contact information of the general manager, she (front desk manager) acted as if she didn't have it. Needless to say, I'll never stay here again. This could've ended in tragedy.

First we were given the incorrect room type. When it was resolved, we thought we should have kept the room we had. The bathroom smelled like a sewer, the vent didn’t work. A door was falling off the drawer that contained the safe. A metal piece was sticking out on the bed and I scraped my leg on it multiple times until I thought to covered it with a wash cloth. We were finally moved to another room. That bathroom had no vent at all. The door where the safe was contained was missing all together. Both rooms could have been cleaner. This hotel definitely has some age to it and by Hilton standards is in need of an update. |As for the bell and valet staff, they provided outstanding service on every encounter. |This hotel does provide a convenient location to many restaurants, attractions, shopping and transportation options.

This has to be the worst DoubleTree Hilton hotel I’ve stayed in. I’m pissed I used my 118,000 honors point + $285 for my 4 night stay in NOLA. The only good is the location and the bartender made a good summer breeze cocktail. This hotel desperately needs room renovations and should not require a $300 deposit (which they do not tell you the deposit amount until you check-in). The room: The AC vent at entrance leaks water and did not realize it until I slipped on the puddle of water going to the bathroom. We had to keep a towel down everyday day because of course no one came to fix it after I reported it to front desk. The room was full of dust and could tell housekeeping has not dusted the furniture or baseboards in a long time. The office chair was broken along with damaged furniture, the floors and shower were not clean very well and housekeeping never cleaned each day they serviced the room. The air vent in the shower was packed with dust and it was nasty to see that while cleaning your body. Breakfast buffet was $22 per person. The food was cold and nasty and not much to choose from. I refused to spend any of my money (regardless of the F&B credit) on the buffet. As a Diamond member I expected better quality room and service. The front desk staff were passive and lacked any form of care for my concerns. They credited me 10,000 Hilton points which was not good enough resolution to me. The manager Gary got an attitude when I asked for more points and the breakfast charge to be removed.

Stayed here recently for 5 nights and was overall disappointed in the experience. The hotel does some things well - the beds were comfortable and housekeeping did stop by every day, the pool was clean and had lots of towels available albeit being fairly spartan, and the location is impeccable. However the rooms are damaged with furniture showing signs of wear and the staff is minimally responsive to complaints. I'm not sure that's necessarily the employees fault I just think management doesn't hire enough people to take care of the guests. The outflow vent in my room's bathroom didn't work and I mentioned it daily without any resolution - I kept being told someone would come look at it but no one did. Without going into details we can all imagine why we would want the bathroom fan working during a long hotel stay and the smells that lingered were quite unpleasant. The breakfast is also laughable at $22 per person - I've had better breakfasts at Best Westerns in rural areas then here. Skip your time and money and go outside the hotel to eat. Ultimately it makes me sad because there are so many better hotels nearby with staff that actually cares about you having a pleasant experience not just collecting your money and having you move along. It's clear their business model is just booking large convention groups and doing numbers that way instead of providing a competitive product. If you literally just need a bed and nothing else the price is probably right but I won't be staying here again and I wouldn't recommend it to any visiting friends.

Manager & staff we're helpful & understanding. Housekeeping did not speak nor understand English. We had no face towels, she said they were out til tomorrow. Our room had an unbearable smell that caused my chest & throat to hurt. We were moved to another room which was worse We then had to check out. The pool needed to be cleaned. The $20 breakfast was a waste of money, though staff was kind. Overall I would not recommend NOLA for anyone to visit. The streets smell horrible, trash everywhere, street people sleeping everywhere, criminals trying to get you. In which one person from our group was robbed. Very few officers were seen. I'm pretty sure they price gouged knowing that such a large conference was happening. NOLA need to address the sewer issue.

We stayed August 23 thru 26th. The hotel was nice. The room was decent but had no microwave. There is one available for public use in the lobby. We stayed on the 14th floor with a good view of the city. The staff was ok. We called the first night for blankets and was told they would see what they could do. Needless to sat we didn't get any. When we went down to the front desk, we were told they probably didn't have any. When we checked out, Rick the bell hop, never showed up and we had to make multiple trips to take our own luggage downstairs without a cart! I was not impressed with the staff at all for a Hilton establishment. The best part of our stay was the casino across the street.

Positive: The location was AMAZING. The room was spacious and clean. Had a mini-fridge which was great. I was a little nervous based on the reviews but I do no regret my stay and we had a great girls trip. Negative: Wish there was a microwave in the room but to be fair, it doesn't say there was one.
