DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Mahwah - Featured Reviews (734)
I stayed here with a family member. The hotel is nice, there were a couple of issues but more importantly they were solved promply, professionally and with consideration for our needs. Howard S., the hotel manager is a very smart and sensitive manager, and that is a rare quality in today’s corporate hotel environment. I am sure that anyone who would visit this hotel, will find themselves in good hands with the leadership here. The rooms are clean, The coffee is quite good, and it is a convenient location. Reasonable prices add to the benefits of staying here.
. This hotel has a beauty parlor, a restaurant, and desk for renting cars that suggests that at one time it was a nice full service hotel. However, the hotel’s maintenance scheme have not kept pace with these aspirations. The walls in public areas all look like they need painting and woodwork was scuffed and dinged. In the room where we stayed the wall had a large black streak or scratch and the furniture was scuffed. The air conditioner was wildly unequal to the task of lowering the temperature in the room substantially though it quite hot this week. Despite the threadbare quality of the facilities the room itself appeared neat and clean. This is a place I would stay again if the price was right, but it would be nice to see it restored and refreshed.
Stayed here last night, definitely not a bad hotel, plenty of parking, hbo, max and all the local channels. Not a smart TV, but that's okay so no Netflix, Hulu or Prime Video streaming. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, bathroom was very nice, I will stay here again if I'm in the area. Oh so grateful, there was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room. That is so great in this weather, AC was also working 💪
Here's a surprise, another tired outdated DoubleTree. I cannot understand for the life of me why this brand of hotels can't do any updating or maintaining to any property. The front desk worker didn't even look like he worked there, just randomly walking the lobby. I'm a Hilton Gold member didn't get waters or a cookie. Just a key card and one annoyed worker who seemed like I was a bother. Off to my room, super small, dirty carpets and a very disgusting bathroom. Toilet had water stains, floor had water stains, shower was falling apart and the horrible paint job. How these places justify the high price tag is beyond me. They cash-in off the Hilton name and offer zero of the quality. Wasn't the worst but for the price it's a not worth it.
The pool has been in disrepair for about 5 years now . Despite their claim that it's undergoing renovation at this point I don't think they will ever fix it. I am posting a picture of the pool in its current state( August 2024) because I too relied on the lovely pictures of the pool before I booked. Maybe it will save someone else the disappointment!
Positive: Nothing at all. This dump of a hotel is way overpriced for the services they offer. Had we known any better, we would have definitely stayed elsewhere. Negative: Our credit card had an unauthorized $50 charge by someone working at DOUBLE TREE MAHWAH presumably trying to breach into our account. We reported this incident to Chase VISA and had to replace our credit card with a new one because of this incident. Negative: ""
While the hotel itself in every category is the absolute best in and around the area, reason for my writing this review is their Conference/Banquet Hall. If you looking to do any type of an event and Mahwah is within your reach, I urge you to check this Hotel out. Sales Manager's name is Dina Perez. Words CanNOT/will NOT do justice to describe the amazing person she is. While Customer Service overall and specially since Covid is on a decline, Dina takes the word itself to the next level. I/we needed to hold an event and amidst the planning phase, had some tragic occurrence in our community. Dina went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect so the event itself would be great. And thanks to her and her team, it most definitely was. Mayor and Police Chief of Mahwah were also present and spoke highly of the event, credit of which goes all Dina and her team. The entire community/friends/relatives were so grateful and thankful to her and her team.
I can write another 1000 words but as I said, words will not do justice. I urge everyone looking to do any type of an event with Mahwah being in the reach, please check this venue out. Location, cleanliness, ambiance, price and last but not least, Customer Service, this Venue/Hotel has it all. An absolute gem of place.
Poor customer service. Front desk girl was on her phone and appeared very bothered by us trying to check in. Sassy attitude with no care towards customers/guests. Have stayed here multiple times in the past but this experience has made it so we will not again. Probably a bad apple but still a poor look overall.
When me and my boyfriend go on our weekend getaways we would stay at another nearby hotel but it would get filthy and filthy even visit. We stayed else where because it was cheaper. But we paid a little more here for one night that we were out on a b
