DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Libertyville - Mundelein - Hotel in Mundelein - 510 IL-83, USA

Not the best double tree I’ve been to, but not the worst either. Interior could do with modernizing. I do appreciate the pool, was clean and temperature was right to swim in. Got the delish cookies too. Slept so so. Bathroom needed some updating. The shower door seal was falling off and bathroom door could not lock. See videos.

I was concerned the hotel would be a bit dated, and it is, but the rooms are quite nice despite that. My room was clean and quiet, however the carpet in the room was the one element that is definitely dated—it looks to be very old and not particularly clean. I called down to the front desk upon noticing the carpet and asked if they could provide me with slippers; I was surprised the answer was just a flat out "no" especially because each room seems to come standard with a bathrobe. That was definitely disappointing, especially considering the carpet's appearance, and I ended up having to purchase a pair of slippers to wear around the room during my stay.

Value for the $ makes this 5*. Even though the hallways are decorated too dark, they are exceptionally clean. Friendly staff. Rooms big and clean, bthroom has large vanity area, nice updated shower. We get hot breakfast as Diamond members, a perk we appreciate.

Positive: Loved all the natural woodwork, and fireplace at entry. The lamps on the checkin desk are to die for! Such unique original vibes throughout entire hotel! Negative: Cookies were not warmed :(

Super service from the front desk (Dan) to the people working at the restaurant and lounge. It's tough handing a tournament sport crowd and they performed a great job. Will stay here again. Like most Doubletree hotels, the rooms are a bit dated but they are kept in good condition. I will stay here again next year for the same lacrosse tournament

I'm sure glad they "record for quality ASSURANCE" when I called and made a reservation. I was told breakfast is INCLUDED. Man at night was nice but gal in the morning needs a Manager cause she told me one wasn't NOT AVAILABLE right now. It's Monday morning. Decent size pool but no hot tub. I think someone should review how many stars this class really is

Positive: That they actually moved us to the room I paid for since they over booked for the first night of our stay. Negative: They gave us a 1 bedroom when I booked the room for two beds, a family of 4! Also the AC was set to 65 and it read 75!!!!

I made an online reservation for my husband on Friday 5/31 @ 4:30am. Mid afternoon he got sick and called to try and cancel as he didn't want to spread his germs. They gave him a hard time since it was within 24 hours but we made the reservation within 24 hours. The person that answered the phone passed his call to a manager. The manager called my husband ab a$$hole and said he didn't understand customer service. Last I checked the hotel is in the customer service business not the person going to the hotel. So disgusted on how he was treated. Never stayed there before and now will definitely NOT even entertain the thought.
