Room smelled musty. Shower drained very slow, so you stood in an inch of water while showering. They don’t provide individual shampoo, just large pump bottles in shower. Ours had one bottle, conditioner. It was empty. We informed the desk, they said someone would put shampoo in that day. Got back that night, still no shampoo, still not draining. We stayed 4 nights. Never again. It’s too bad, this looked like it could be a nice hotel

We have had good experiences in the past here so we chose to stay here again. The room provided immediately had a dank smell and was extremely humid upon entering. I called down to report this but the phone did not work. We walked down to the front desk and explain the situation as well as the unusual smell/humidity of the floor. We learned that there was a recent incident with the fire sprinklers. She fortunately upgraded us to a different room. This room was better. It was clean. When we returned to our room at night, I tried to make eye contact and say hello to the person working at the desk, but she avoided eye contact. From a security perspective it would be helpful if the desk attendant at least looked at the people who walked in the door, especially as there was no other guests anywhere around. Reaching our room, we turned on the air conditioning before bed and realized that this accentuated the humidity and the smell of the room. The bed was one of the softest bed I’ve ever slept on, so soft that we woke with sore shoulders, back and neck. i hope the quality improves at this location. HH#: 841144725 BLUE

The reviews on the place actually scared me. I'm a review person. My husband had booked the room. We had an easy check in process via phone no need to stop at the front desk and got to pick our own room. We chose room 409 as it was facing the indoor pool and the top floor. Walking into the room was very humid 🥵 and stagnant the AC was on Low at 69° but the humidity in that room was unbearable. I looked around for cleanliness and pest residue and the room was pretty immaculate. Everything was very clean. No issues with cleanliness the housekeeping did a good job. Everything worked as should the plug in outlets, coffee pot etc. The Lotion bottle was empty but the shower ones were full. The bed and the carpet felt moist. I don't think they were though I think it was the humidity in that room. I don't know if it's because it's facing the swimming pool and they didn't have the roof fans open or what but The only negative thing I can say about this room is the stagnant humidity It almost needs a dehumidifier in here. The breakfast buffet was absolutely wonderful. I got a made to order omelette which was cooked to perfection, The potatoes were crispy just how I like them, The oatmeal was nice and fluffy, the French toast was pretty good, My husband said the fruit tasted nice ,fresh and sweet. We have zero complaints about breakfast It was probably one of the better ones we've had in a while. I also like the fact that they offer sugar-free syrups and jams. Like I said the only negative thing is the humidity in the room I don't know if it's a HAVOC problem or what maybe needs to be checked but I would definitely stay here again. * And another suggestion the safe should be mounted to the cabinet it was just loose in there I could pick it up and take it out. 😬🙈

The room was really clean. The staff member was extremely humble and friendly. They greeted me with a warm super delicious cookie. However, I missed having coffee in the room as it was out of stock. Despite that, I will definitely stay here again when I return to Lawrence.

Great experience right from the start! I was greeted by Pilar and she was just exceptional by her helpfulness and her smile. I felt very welcome and appreciated. My room felt humid upon entering but it was only near the door. My room was clean and everything looked great. Outstanding customer service must be the thing because, when checking out, Rylee excelled with her smile and helpfulness. The breakfast is a MUST. John, the breakfast cook, makes omelets to order and they are yummy. The other items a breakfast are fantastic! I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Pilar, Rylee and John for your hard work, dedication and professionalism. By the way, the DoubleTree cookies are mouthwatering and you have to try one.

I had never stayed at this hotel before. I saw the reviews and know that a lot of them are just disgruntled, so I went in with an open mind. ||Cons: The musty smell is legit. The pool is indoors out in the open in the lobby, so I'm sure that's contributing to it. They did have a dehumidifier on our floor, but it couldn't keep up. Our room was musty smelling even with blowing the fan constantly. It was also incredibly humid, so we tried to freeze ourselves out to combat it. The hotel pool was closed for maintenance the entire weekend, which was a bummer. They do have a hot tub, but we decided to pass on it. Also the hotel TV had netflix but no other streaming services, which seems easy enough to add. So bring your own roku or chromecast. This last one I get wasn't solely the hotel's fault, but the first floor reeked of pot. ||Pros: Water pressure and temp in the shower was fine. Towels were not soft but dried well. Bed was nice and firm. The room itself was clean. Hotel staff was friendly. ||Overall, it will not be a hotel I pick again, but I've stayed in worse.

Positive: The lady that checked me in was incredibly kind and helpful. The lobby was quite clean. Negative: The outside of the hotel was overgrown with weeds and the entries apart from the main entry were not well lit. The window in the room was to an abandoned hallway which was used for storage. No conditioner, no soap. The surfaces didn?t look clean.

Positive: Friendly employees, great pool, very clean. Negative: Our room was cold, the thermostat was set to 72 but it was 65 degrees. Thankfully the bed and blankets were warm!
