DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Durango - Hotel in Durango - 501 Camino Del Rio, USA

Large, clean, wonderful rooms. We had a king bed on the river with wonderful rushing water sounds. The property is an easy walk to historic downtown and there’s a grocery store adjacent to the property. ||We are loyal Hilton clients. And loved this hotel.

My husband was there on business. I was a tag along. The room was comfortable. The housekeeper was great. Very pleasant and did a good job cleaning. A couple of issues though. The sliding glass door to the balcony was extremely hard to open and close. I had to call help desk to get it shut. Didn’t attempt to go out again. The shampoo and soaps had heavy fragrance. I am extremely sensitive to fragrance. Had to get my own. Hotels should only use fragrance free for those with this issue.

Would give the hotel a 2 star rating as others have mentioned very dated, but not charming either. From my experience the hotel was clean and the food in the restaurants was good. The front desk staff was great, in particular, Kaylin. However, the room was way overpriced for what you get, particularly for the condition of the hotel. In Addition, charging $12 for self parking in an open lot is ridiculous, not sure what the money is going for as parking lot in need of repair and there was a dumpster right in the middle for no reason. The front desk staff was the only thing allowing me to give even a rating of 3.

We loved this hotel. The location is perfect and the extra cost of a riverside room was well worth it. My kids loved the indoor pool and the river walking path right out the door was great for our dog. The hotel layout and finishes are a bit dated, so don’t expect a “new” feel. Outside our room smelled like cigarettes and the florescent lighting made it feel like a lower tier hotel experience. A light remodel and smell control and this place would be fantastic.

This is a great hotel-we loved it! We had a riverfront room with patio and it was lovely. Rooms are large, beds are very comfortable, staff is courteous and helpful. The room originally given us was quite close to 160; they relocated us to a quieter room on the west side of the hotel upon our request. The hotel backs up to a walkway along the Animas River - perfect for a beautiful walk, run, or bike ride. The hotel is in a great location- walk to downtown Durango and the Durango-Silverton train station. There’s also a supermarket across the street. We would definitely stay here again!

“Hilton For The Stay” and yes I am a Hilton Honors member. This hotel is cute but a little outdated but it’s still a Hilton so it’s allowed :) :) Great location and right along the river. Make sure you ask for a cookie at check-in. Restaurant is decent & property seems to be safe. Was here in the winter & summer months & both stays were pleasant. Nice water pressure in the shower, beds are quality and linen is clean. Elevators are a bit old but there are only 3 floors and a lower level. Just love the way Hilton does it!

Hotel location was fantastic because it was close to everything we wanted to do like the train, explore downtown, and walking paths along the river. The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were older, but still clean and were very spacious. The food from the hotel was pricey, but tasted so good it’s hard to complain. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our 4th floor Animus River view balcony room with a king sized bed was spacious. The balcony was screened and had comfortable wrought iron chairs and a side table where we read and watched kayaks and rafts float down the river. The room was quiet and the terrific view was shaded by an Aspen tree. The room attendants were exceptional. Our room was made up and cleaned multiple times over our 6 night stay. Coffee supplies were replenished as used. The bed was comfortable with various pillow types and a down duvet with crisp overlay sheets. Great water pressure and towels that were actually soft. The hotel has an Albertson’s with a Starbucks right next door. Downtown Durango and the train depot is two blocks away. Durango Rafting company is in the parking lot of Albertsons. I would definitely stay here again.
