DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport - Hotel in North Charleston - 7401 Northwoods Blvd, USA

To be honest..I don’t know why some of these reviews are so terrible. Please don’t let them steer you away. I’m usually picky about where I stay but try to ignore the silly reviews that seem to be a little far out. I’m not really sure why people expect a five star hotel when paying a much lower amount of money. Complaining about not receiving a complimentary cookie??? That’s why you booked the hotel? Silly. I was a bit nervous when we got to the hotel because I did have the “bad” reviews in the back of my mind. But I have to say that we are very pleased with our stay. All of the areas are very clean! For the pricing of the room we got, we’re very impressed by this hotel. Some of the reviews mentioned that the employees were rude. I don’t agree. I would be the first person to make a complaint about rude staff but that’s not the case here. They’re not exactly smiles and rainbows BUT they were very helpful with all of our questions/requests. The woman at the front desk gave us complimentary waters instead of us buying from the cooler. The lobby/bar area is large and very beautiful! The room was super nice too! We get the king suite so we have a bedroom/bathroom and a little living room area that could be closed off with a door. There was a TV, couch, fridge, desk and couch. We didn’t use the pool but we did check it out! Super cute! There were little canopies with couches that had some nice privacy. The bar was nice and there was space around it with tables to eat at. The food there was a little pricey so we opted out. The gym is the perfect little space for a nice workout as well. They have treadmills, bikes, and free weights. One of their bikes is a Peloton. We loved our stay and will definitely be back in the future!

My son and I arrived around 9pm on Friday to check in. There was 1 person at the desk and at least 7 people waiting to check in, so it took a while. No info was provided about the hotel to me except that the hotel does not offer breakfast. It’s odd that the pool is shared with another hotel. There were no towels except for all the dirty ones laying around. The shaded areas were a nice touch and lots of sitting area. Which was good since I didn’t want to get in and not be able to dry off. No one was at the desk for checkout. This is definitely not a hotel I will return to and it’s the lowest quality Doubletree I’ve been to. At least have good staff available and clean up!

Airport shuttle is all about airline crews once they are taken care of then you can get a ride. Easy check in and you get a yummy chocolate chip cookie. Treated to a nice large suite. A small pool shared with an adjacent hotel, closes early and opens late not able to use it. This is an older facility that seems to be recently updated. No executive lounge, small lobby bar, only choice for breakfast is Starbucks inside hotel otherwise you have to walk to nearby Waffle House. Upon departure the shuttle had a flat tire and had to pay $20+ for ride share to the airport.

The hotel is in a great location. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms look nice. However, the fan in our bathroom was broken. Also, the air from the one a/c vent in the room blew directly onto the bed and was very loud.

Me and a girlfriend I was traveling with for work stopped in to inquire and view the room. We were greeted by the new manager and a lady who also worked front desk. We asked to view a room, and the manager asked us to give him a moment, and while waiting, we noticed the condition of the furniture, which was ripped in the lobby and also the lady who was also working the front desk was not very friendly. My friend, who I was with, we decided to go with TRU right across in the same area because it was clean and very contemporary. Not to mention the hotel front desk young lady was very sweet and helpful.

Room smelled stale and damp. The bed was very uncomfortable. The air would not stay at a constant temperature. No bar soap at sink to wash your hands. Toilet paper roll was almost empty. There is no breakfast as shown in the photos. The person at the bar area did not speak English very well and pointed to parfait and bagel and a few pre wrapped sandwiches that did not look fresh. We had to leave the premises for breakfast. As a Hilton member I was highly disappointed

We had to get a last minute room bc of a flight cancellation. After booking we had an issue with the room and the awesome 'renee' got us exactly what we needed! Jimmy and Kenny (shuttle bus drivers) also got us back and forth from the airport with ease. |Great employees at this hotel.

I don’t know who the gentleman at the bar was but he needs to find another job or profession because customer service is not possible for him. While looking at the menu at the bar in his face he never asked me if I needed help. He continued to talk to a female until whatever it was they were talking about was over then he finally acknowledged me. The very next day, I had a situation with my son and sat him on one of the tables with a table cloth and he rudely stated that he was trying to keep our area clean for us (I was there for an event with the Army). Just rude! Whoever in management that sees this review needs to let this man go and find someone who actually cares about every single person that stays at this hotel and he is not it. Other than him, I had a pleasant stay. Bar food was not too great.
