DoubleTree by Hilton Fullerton - Hotel in Fullerton - 2932 Nutwood Ave, USA

The hotel staff here is dishonorable, which certainly doesn't match their "Hilton Honors" designation.||We had our 40th reunion in Fullerton on Aug 3. We had a deal with the last manager that the points that non-Honors members would have accumulated would go to my Hilton Honors account.||That manager quit and now the staff is refusing to honor the deal, saying that EVERYONE - EVERYONE (!) had a Hilton account. Sure they did. Note that this is after three weeks of them turning us down and not honoring our agreement.||So we chose this hotel, and not the Marriott across the freeway, because of the points, and they reneged and are refusing to dole them out. After we sent over a dozen people there who booked rooms for at least one night, and at least two dozen, probably three, who drank at the hotel bar the night before.||Thousands of dollars spent at their business because of us and we got nothing but "too bad" from them.||STAY AT THE MARRIOTT.||p.s. the room was fine, the view nonexistent, the parking lot sketchy, lobby decent.

We recently booked 8 rooms for our company at this hotel, expecting a smooth and professional experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be anything but that. The hotel made the mistake of putting all 8 rooms under one confirmation number. When one of our team members had to cancel his room, the hotel inexplicably cancelled all 8 rooms. We noticed the issue right away and immediately called the hotel to correct their mistake. Instead of fixing it, they told us there was nothing they could do because they had already "sold" the rooms. This left our entire team without accommodation at the last minute, causing significant disruption to our plans. The hotel staff showed a complete lack of concern for our situation, and their unwillingness to rectify their error was incredibly frustrating. This experience was not only unprofessional but also demonstrated that they are not equipped to handle corporate bookings or provide the necessary support for business travelers. We will not be staying here again, and we strongly advise others to avoid this hotel, especially if booking multiple rooms for a group or company event.

Second time staying here. Nov 2023 & April 2024. I really like this place! What makes it great is the people. Everyone so friendly. From Edith & Eva to Carmen?? ( bartender ) each person working there has a great demeanor. The rooms are updated and spacious/comfortable. The bar could use a little lift in terms of quality of wines and liquor be a little more spacious ( heard they might do a renovation to lobby ) and add outdoor bar seating area but that's just cosmetic. Location is perfect if you have someone going to CS Fullerton and for work ( my office in Brea ) as its right off the highway. See about choosing a room not highway facing if you are a light sleeper. Plan on staying here when my business travels take me to SoCal.

I was greeted by Edith who was very friendly and welcoming to me when I walked in! The room I got was super clean and comfortable. Went down to the restaurant and was helped by Carmen who gave me A+ service with my meal and drinks! Definitely will be back here next time I’m in town

Edith is always very professional, we stay for business purposes and every time we come she is great. Room is always clean, and we need anything all we do is call and they bring it to us right away. I definitely recommend to stay here with friends or family.

Switched to this hotel after having a horrible experience at another. This place was super clean and the staff were amazing. I will definitely be staying here again when I am in the area for work.

I was in a room that overlooked Nutwood Ave. It had old windows that did not keep out the noise. I could hear the street sounds and the busy services behind Denny’s restaurant such as the refrigerated trucks unloading and the loud banging of the dumpster lids behind the restaurant. The split AC unit rattled, and when they humidity was up, it didn't take out the humidity. The room was nice overall, but the bathroom had the cheapest fixtures ever. The towel rack fell and I had to reinstall it. If you prefer to sleep in a dark room, as I do, the shades leak a lot of light. Were the housekeepers instructed to skimp on hand towels and washcloths? Besides the rationing of towels, the room was cleaned well. My room wasn’t made the day before I left. When housekeeping didn’t respond using the room phone, I called the front desk and asked for fresh towels and coffee. The housekeeper provided both but changed the sheets as well, which was nice but unnecessary. There has to be a better way to communicate. I scanned the QR code to read about the amenities, but there was hardly any useful info. IOW, the hotel not only doesn't provide printed info in the hotel room, you’re lucky if you can find that info online. Again, no good communication. If the owner is reading this, please let the housekeepers know that I appreciated their smiles, politeness, and good work. Jeers to the young people at the front desk who act like robots, stare at their monitors, and don’t know how to greet guests and ask them if all is well with their stay. At the next DoubleTree Hotel I stayed at in a nearby town, I realized that I missed out on the cookies that the Fullerton DoubleTree offered for free. I saw the van with the cookie advertising, but no one offered me any in Fullerton! The room didn’t have a microwave, and when I asked for one, I was told I could use the microwave available in the breakfast room. I didn’t look happy, so a guy asked me how long I was staying, and when I said, “One week,” he said I could call the following morning at 9 am to request a microwave and would get one if one is available. Apparently, he was not confident that if he put a note that night it would be read in the morning. That says a lot about their communication system. Also, I didn’t like the sound of “if one is available.” For the cost of a microwave that is standard in cheap hotels, the Hilton hotel should have someone run to the mall nearby and purchase a microwave if one were not available! The hotel lobby didn’t smell fresh. It was stuffy throughout the day. At other hours you could smell the breakfast food or the liquor from the bar. You’ve got to swipe the room card to go up the elevator, which is a plus for safety, but the parking lot does not make you feel confident about safety, especially for women. Also, every night you’ve got to remember to place on the dash a piece of paper to indicate that you are a hotel guest, otherwise your car will be towed. If you don’t have a car, the location of the hotel is great with so many convenient shops and places to eat nearby, all within walking distance.
