I hadn't been here in years..decided to take my son yesterday & I was very impressed! This place is awesome!! The trails through the woods are the best! We walked 4.4 miles & I could of stayed for hours!! Will definitely hit these trails again!!
Fun water park and some interesting trails through an old dairy farm.
I have spent nearly a year on these trails with my dog and I must admit these are some of the best trails I have ever hiked around this area of Kansas and this is coming from a country boy that has spent most of his life exploring nature. Dornwood trails and park are just a short drive from the south east side of Topeka which is filled with all the stores and restaurants one needs. Don't let the location fool you, I can tell a lot of care and attention has been given to them. I look forward to experiencing them more on my journey to a healthier body and mind. One of the best kept secrets of southeast Topeka.
This is due to the staff if you could get negative stars I would of gave it.. Nice place water park is nice & kept up well. Diamonds are kept nice just horrible staff for the most part very rude, inconsiderate & very childish & unprofessional. Once y'all clean that up it'll be a 4 star place again
Small picnic area. Pretty quiet when i went. Toddler loved it. Did not see any bathrooms. Fountains, bucket dumps, water tunnel, and more.
Nice trails selection many hilly areas that is nice to traverse many features like the breached dam waterfall of sorts in the deer creek by a huge look water well near the old bridge
Dornwood park has beautiful trails all through and ones that lead to Deer Creek.
I was pleasantly surprised by the spray park they added to the park. I had no idea they had that amenity there. That's awesome for the kids who may not be able to afford to go to the community pools. I hosted a birthday party there and the park was clean and grass was cut. The playground equipment was in great condition and appeared newer than in most parks. I'm still shocked that something this nice is over here and grateful at the same time. It definitely didn't look this amazing when I was growing up! Way to go Topeka!
Lake Shawnee is one of my favorite places in Topeka. I have spent a lot of time here, playing with my kids, walking my dog, fishing, riding my bicycle, and enjoying the garden. Bring your kids, your significant other, your dogs, and/ or your friends.
Not from Topeka but thoroughly enjoyed our walk in the park. Wide and well-maintained cement paths, large mature shade trees and so many things to do and see such as the gardens, carousel, zoo, train, playground/picnic areas, zoo and so much more. We
Went for a wedding reception inside, pretty roomy, big kitchen area, bathrooms, clean, not to hot or cold inside but we did keep the door open b/c we had quite a few people. The little kids had a blast running playing in the play set they have out th
Great place for a run, walk, walk with the dogs, bike ride. Nice scenery and wild life sightings if you get out early, and the right time of the season; deer, turkey and of course squirrels.
I showed up at sunset it was beautiful. I saw two owls. Then I went to play on the teeter totter then fell off and started bleeding bad. But luckily the near by Churches chicken was very helpful and bandaged me up well. The water fountain also was go
