Don Juan Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Waterford Twp - 6565 Cooley Lake Rd, USA

We’ve just moved to the area and we’re looking for a Mexican restaurant for our usual Friday night dinner. Don Juan did not disappoint. We’ve been 3 times and the food and service has been amazing. 4 stars due to the over loud music. I understand you want it to feel authentic but when you can’t hear your dinner partner thus having no conversation all we did was eat and run. Did not linger over a 2nd beverage or desert.

Food is awesome! I can't wait to go back. Our waitress insisted my fiancee wanted a "Virgin" daquiri even though we said no 4 times, he wanted the real thing. She didn't speak much English but she needs to learn to speak to both parties not just the man at the table! Not going to knock the restaurant just because she made several rookie mistakes. Just going to make sure to sit in a different section next time! We had to repeat our orders to her multiple times. If you can't remember, write it down!!!

Prices I found to be slightly high, menu is pages long. Margarita I ordered Mango, ended up with ? not sure… on the taste, colour is slightly displayed in the bottom of the glass, I did try to mix! Food was to edible temperature, tasteful, flavour was pretty outstanding. The sour cream/salsa along with my mushroom quesadilla were mixed together tho in a small bowl…soggy looking. All food was ate, salsas presented to start were rich and tomato filled, spicy & mild yum! Chips were crunchy/fresh!!

Great atmosphere and service are the highlights of this trip. The queso dip is also amazing. I've tried the tacos and tamales, both of which were good but under seasoned for my taste. Still a great place to go to when you're craving some good food.

10/10 best of the best! My husband and I come here quite often and absolutely love it! The service is amazing. The staff are always smiling and so kind. As a mom of 3 under the age of 5, it is difficult to bring my kids anywhere. They are even great with our kids too! Absolutely top notch. Food is delicious! My husband cannot get enough of the salsa. Highly recommend!

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. They have the best margaritas; they taste good and they are STRONG!! Well worth the money!! They also have the best cheese dip (queso). It's a white style dip and sometimes has a little bit of a kick, depending on the day. Everything I have had here has been really good. My go to used to be the California burrito (it's covered in their white cheese dip). My new go to is the Pollo con Chorizo. You can't go wrong with anything you eat here. The service is always really good and the atmosphere is fun!

Not the same owners as previous restaurants that were here and I have to say.....great upgrade for the area. Great food and atmosphere. Menu has alot of options....to many I think....but it doesn't matter because it is great food.. *****ADDING TO THIS ON FATHERS DAY 2023*** SOOOOOOO DELICIOUS STILL!!!! They did something awesome too on Father's Day. Each dad got a $10 voucher for next visit within 90 days. Looks like I'll be coming back again...and again.....and again.

We tried Don Juan's after a friends recommendation. We tried the tacos, a steak burrito, and a combo with burrito and chalupa. We got the Spanish rice and chips and salsa. Everything was really good. Don Juan's did not beat our favorite Mexican restaurant but we will definitely go again. As we ordered through doordash I can't speak to the customer service or restaurant
