Don Coqui On The Hudson - Latin American restaurant in Haverstraw - 16 Front St, USA

Another first-time visit for me. I've been to the White Plains location and the two formers in New Rochelle and City Island. This location has the outdoor ambiance for star gazing! The food gets you there. The outside glam makes you want to stay there! The Lobster and Shrimp Rice is a Must!!! The pan Seared salmon was great. The clams, oysters and shrimp tower was delightful!

Jay, the manager, was accommodating and ultra pleasant from inception. We also had awesome servers, Lorena and Victor, who were very professional, patient and amicable. The environment was resort-like. Felt like we were in a beach town ⛱️. Being on the Hudson made it even more beautiful and the experience that more special. Thank you for a really lovely time. We look forward to returning.

Aaron was an absolute pleasure!!! Best waiter I’ve ever had!!! He was so kind and made sure we were satisfied at all times!!! Please don’t let his great work go unnoticed!!! Thank you Aaron!!!

The view was beautiful. I ordered a patron margarita which it was decent but I had way better margarita. The margarita was $16 and it is served in a plastic cup. My daughter hadr tacos and she said it was excellent!! I had the oxtails it was tasty but they don’t give as many oxtails For the price. The service was kind of slow and they kept forgetting my group sides. I will come back to get appetizers and drinks.

It was our first time here and it was enjoyable. The weather was perfect as was the view of the Hudson. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling my best so I didn't get to order dessert, but my dinner was good. Just good because the rice was a bit under cooked and the beans were a little bland. I expected better from this place. Presentation was nice. Oh, the wings were probably the best we've tasted anywhere. East coast oysters were good too. As for service, our waiter was good but not that attentive. Not sure if he was overwhelmed but not attentive. All in all we'll probably come back later in the evening to enjoy the view again.

If you're looking for a family fun party place on the water, you just found it! FERNANDO was our super-waiter! A manager checked on us and one of the girls danced with Momma Jo. Great Caribbean Latin food, friendly, excellent, fast service, and dance music to help you burn off the calories🎵🎶💃🕺👯‍♂️. Fabulous pork, skirt steak, and seafood Mofongo. Tasty sangria and creme brulee cheesecake!

What an incredible find! Located on the western bank of the Hudson River, me and friends stopped for a scenic meal after a hike at Bear Mountain State Park. We were blown away by the view and the food (coconut shrimp, jerk honey wings, shrimp mofungo & jerk chicken platter), but even more appreciative of the stellar service we received. 5 stars - 10/10...great place to dine!

Not a good experience. However upon arriving we were waiting just minutes before our seating to our outdoor reservation. We placed our order and decided to go to the restroom and went to our car(while our food is being prepared) total of 5 mins if that. Upon returning to our table only to see it was taken by another couple!!! Asked to speak to the manager and all he could say he seen me walk to my car so he “assumed “ I was leaving, yet still had our food come out. He told me I was accommodated by staff cause they found me another table and that my chips dip and drinks would b e coming back out. I mean after all before going to the restroom we had all that on our table, why clear it. I drove an hour and confirmed my reservation, why just walk out?!?! I never had experience this in all my years of dining out. Food isn’t great at all, coming from a Hispanic background some of the flavors were very bland, the mixtures w some of the dishes were a poor combination. I would not come back, we paid for the atmosphere of being outside along the water, “the experience” that’s about it, definitely overrated if you’ve had your share of outings!! Manager didn’t care to compensate in anyway, just told me my chips, dip, and drinks will be out again 🤦🏽‍♀️!!! Meanwhile they add their own gratuity on no matter how small the party. Shady 😎.
