Dohatsuten Ramen & Tapas - Ramen restaurant in Palo Alto - 799 San Antonio Rd, USA

One of the good places in general in the area. We liked the ramen but to be honest we haven’t been back because there are a lot of places to try in the area. There are a lot of good places here and you would never be out of choices.

Went here for tapas and dinner. There is off street parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. The ramen was good, they have kids ramen which was thoroughly enjoyed. The tapas were a mixed bag with the pickled cucumber good, but the calamari so/so being over cooked and the pot stickers being a little overcooked as well.

Fantastic for lunch. We had a range of the menu items form my rice bowl to ramen and everyone was satisfied. Portions are quite big but friendly staff provide take home boxes. Even for ramen. A lot more kara-age than expected in the appetizer order. Outdoor as well as indoor eating area. Kids menu was great. Kids ramen and kind of a mixed plate available. But sharing with adults is also no issue because of portion sizes.

Went there for lunch , sit outside patio good weather good with a bowl of ramen . Ordered Asahi’s chashu ramen , love this noodle texture great , feel like eating little boba , ha ha ! Service is great !

Absolutely a great ramen place. Everything is delicious. Highly recommend. To avoid the wait up, be here earlier like 5:30pm.

+ Good variety of food choices. + Decent portion and reasonably priced in a good location. - Tonkatsu soup base was a bit sweeter than expected - Music was a bit too loud.

We shared a tonkotsu ramen and the pumpkin croquette and shiro-maguro tataki appetizers. The ramen was delicious and well-cooked (chewy noodles, fresh veggies, and great “jelly” egg). That was a 5 star. The kabocha kurokke was okay (4 stars) and the tataki meh (3 stars). On a previous trip I recall getting the shiro-maguro ponzu don and it was very good. So I was a little disappointed. We were encouraged to eat indoors. We were told, “it’s cooler”. However I would opt for the outdoor seating in the future although it is roadside. Service was quick at the start and efficient through meal delivery.

The unagi hot pan tasted great. The other food were ok. They should clean their cups more careful.
