My wife and run across this place by chance. I love whole belly clams and can’t pass up a chance. It is a small spot 6 tables and take out service. The lobster rolls looked great. Our clams were very good but not my favorite breading that said I would go back if I’m in the neighborhood.
Finding decent conch or conch fritters in the NYC-area has been an exercise in futility, so when I saw a post on their social media account advertising conch fritters I figured I needed to see how they stack up.
We arrived around 7 on a Saturday night and, to my surprise, we were the only customers. The parking lot was full and we had to circle the block before finding a spot, but there are a few pubs in the area.
My companion was eager to try their hot buttered lobster roll and placed their order before I could finish looking at the menu board. I asked whether their calamari is served with rings and tentacles and was told that they only serve rings. Although it’s not scientific, that’s my method of determining whether they’re serving fresh or frozen calamari. Like I said, it’s not a scientific method and I’m sure it’s extremely flawed. Besides, I kinda’ like the tentacles. I asked for an order of conch fritters and was told that they were unavailable and they hadn’t had them for the past 2-3 days. That was disappointing. The employee at the counter was patient while I decided what I wanted to eat and answered our questions about the beverages in the cooler.
I rarely order lobster rolls because I feel that I can usually find something as flavorful on any menu for ten dollars less, but on this night I decided to treat myself.
We ordered two of the hot buttered lobster rolls and a soda. The “market price” rolls were priced at $28 each on this night, but I will say that they were stuffed with lobster. The piece resting atop my roll was the largest piece of claw meat that I’d ever seen outside of an actual lobster claw. My meal came with a sample-sized serving of cole slaw in a shot glass-sized plastic cup. My companion received a heaping serving of french fries with their meal. I don’t see any reason for them to skimp on the slaw, but oh well. It was tasty.
The lobster roll was… okay. The bread was soft and buttery and sadly had more flavor than the actual lobster. We both felt that the lobster meat could’ve used something more… like seasoned butter, Old Bay… just something else. The sandwich was filling, but didn’t leave us feeling satisfied.
After walking to the front to dump our trays and stack our used bowls, we walked past the three employees sitting around and looking at their personal devices. Not one person looked up or mumbled a “goodnight” or “thanks for stopping by.” This caught my attention but I decided not to say anything to my companion, but they also noticed and mumbled to me, “Not even a ‘good night’?”
I’d return just to try the conch fritters.
So i get it, I understand that the price of a lobster roll is regularly subject to change due to market prices, so i was wrongfully assuming that it would be made up for with a decent serving of fries. So $26.07 is a reasonable price for this? Either that or i was being taxed or punished or whatever for coming in at 7:30 for a cold lobster roll? Either scenario seems pretty lose lose for me eh? Funny story ; i work at a shop down the road from here and ANY time i have to tell a customer “its gonna be a while im sorry”, its normally followed by “hey if youre hungry theres a good seafood spot right across from diner”. The ironic part is that this is my first and last time ordering food from djs. Whatever the case is, i cant afford a lobster roll and a handful of fries for almost 30 bucks. Im more mad at myself than anything. I knew the second i caught an attitude that i wasnt gonna be happy with my dinner. Been eating at the diner across the street since i was a little kid. Thats where i should be sending people. Go to lighthouse diner theyre amazing
Came here for the first time and took other reviewers suggestions and came at an off time. Glad we did because there was a steady stream of customers. The food was fabulous. Fast, hot and delicious. I usually only can find and enjoy Ipswich whole belly clams in Florida and a couple of places on LI , but this place had the most tender Ipswich that I ever had. Totally sublime. And conch fritters here too! Really yummy but wish a little more conch was in them. The lobster roll was stuffed with big chunks of lobster. You can get it hot or cold. It was very impressive. The staff was great. The “ sauces” were all delicious and we tried them all!
Top notch customer service...
They were willing to refund us for the soup without any hassle...
Our friend did not even have to explain anything or stop eating and get up from her table for the refund..they exhanged her meal and gave her the appropriate refund while she ate.
Although the place is small and quaint they were very accomodating and sat all 12 of us within 10 minutes even as the place was packed..
They cook and serve meals very quickly which allowed for very low waiting periods and faster (in-and-out) service..
We had the Calamari..
Mahi Mahi tacos
Crab cakes
Shrimp Scampi roll.. Upgraded with sweet potatoes or french fries..
Their menu is small but the food is so fresh!
We all enjoyed every single thing we ordered as it was all very tasty..
The fried Calamari was "melt in your mouth"
We will definitely be back for the shrimp scampi roll!
Stopped in for a lobster roll. Great prices, friendly folks and great food! My only wish was that the hot lobster roll had a bit of butter but as it was nothing but lobster (not lobster salad) I can't complain about how delicious it was. Place is small but the hospitality for a counter service can't be beat if you can get a spot.
Really great food here little spot on Sunrise but with big flavor! The lobster roll was amazing a good amount of lobster and just the right amount of butter a a good sized bun and the shrimp scampi roll was outstanding as well definitely will be coming back here when I have my seafood cravings!
Love this place! Best seafood around and the hot lobster roll is to die for. The workers are super friendly and make the experience that much better! What more can you want from a place? Perfect, delicious food, fast and friendly service, and all for a reasonable price that won't kill your bank account! You will not be disappointed <3

This used to be a dreaded Beach due to the distance between the parking lot and the water. However this year the state parks department has installed a very helpful blue walkway from the parking lot to the water that makes walking dragging a chair ro
I came here because I live in Queens and I was aware thereâs the same owner. I was anxious to meet Mrs. Milene Yanez, who, due to her fatherâs heritage, passionately prepares Venezuelan cuisine. She has been delighting the Venezuelan community wi
We went for a private party in a side room. Staff was so nice. Food was great! Drinks kept coming. When the party was planned I was told the manager was super helpful as well. Great time!!!!
Chime to Field 6 if you want to be in a no radio zone, peaceful and no alcohol on the beach. They sell mixed drinks just outside the snack shop there by the parking lot. Get here early! Everyone knows this is the nicest section and this lot gets full

The food: There are many things on the menu, from salads to burgers, but we all come here mostly for the platters and the gyros. There are many protein options to pick, my favorites are the lamb, chicken, and falafel. I think the meat is always well-
