Friendly atmosphere and staff. Clean restrooms. Well stocked condiments bar and staff was attentive to it throughout my time there. Tables were bussed in a timely manner after each guest departed. And the food was great!!! I had the sliced beef sammich and a pop. I was able to put as much fresh onions, bbq sauce, pickles and jalapeños that I wanted !! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Always have loved this place. Been several years since I've came as I often travel more than I settle; quality and service have only gotten better. I enjoyed a chopped beef baked potato and a half a rack of ribs. (shared with my road dog Tanque 🐕) Would recommend either to fulfill your hunger.

Fantastic place for barbecue. This is a hidden JEM. OFF 45 FRWY EXIT 19 IN Dickerson.. go the staff are excellent and exceptional service awesome. They serve breakfast brisket. Yummy

So disappointed. ☹️ I used the rave about this place. The service is great, the building is really cool but the brisket today was way below Texas standards. Sides were good, sausage was good but the brisket was dry, hard and had no flavor. I'm going to write it off as an off day but $25 for lunch by myself will make me go someplace else.

Let's start with the staff. Friendly & very people oriented. I loved the way the came straight up to me & my wife and explained how everything works. The prices of the food are average. The taste of the food not so much. I had a 3 meat plate of brisket, turkey, and pulled pork. The brisket was a bit luke warm & didn't have any seasoning. The same was with the pulled pork. It was very dry & hard to chew. The turkey was ok although it could have been warmer also. Now the sides were the best part of the plate! I had the collard greens and Mac & cheese. The sides were excellent! I had no complaints. This place has amazing Mac & cheese for those who are skeptical. Overall I would have to say it's not worth the money because my main course (meats) weren't good

I'll be back to try other meals. So round 2 was better and they honored thier word. The pulled pork was good. I'll get extra sauce next time because I like to drownd my BBQ in it. Speaking of the BBQ sauce it had a mild viscosity and this also had a more flavor which also stuck to the meat. I did add some fresh ground salt and pepper which they have at the tables. And is better for business. You can always add but not take away. The fries. Perfect just like last time. The boudin balls are really crunchy and have a great texture. They aren't as good as authentic Louisiana boudin but few are. The sauce is still a weird combo...it's like a pink tartar sauce with mayo? Idk... It's good but it doesn't jive for me with the herb/ rice/ meat flavor that boudin usually brings. The chili was still ok and so we're the beans. But mixed together and added with some onion and cheese they went well together. A little salt pepper and hot sauce can go a long way.. Always give a place a few times before you write them off. Sorry to say we did not enjoy the barbecue sauce at all. SMALL plate of brisket and sausage combo was warm but not hot. Pulled pork was good but without a barbecue sauce not so good. We brought it home to make sandwiches with. Barbecue beans, tater tots and mac cheese were good. I would recommend a lot more choices in barbecue sauce!!!!! We would not go back cuz of bad sauce.

This place used to be so good but sadly, the brisket is like eating leather and the prices are astronomical for the quality. I would recommend going next door to Marais, so much better. The Mac n cheese, French fries, and banana pudding were the only decent quality food items. My mom had the fried shrimp and dad had the steak, both were terrible. Steak was old and tough, shrimp was overcooked. Save your money and go somewhere else.
