This is popular 5.6 mile loop trail with about 1,300 feet of elevation gain to the peak -- you will encounter many hikers with dogs off leash, all well behaved in our experience. Wide, easy to follow trail which is rocky in places. Numerous switchbacks. High desert environment -- carry water. Ample parking at the trailhead (also for the Southern Boundary tail). Excellent vistas of Taos most of the time.
Just about the best hike I ever had. May be a little more intimidating than you expected, but it makes sense once you get to the top. Well worth persisting, with many small payoffs in the form of fascinating geology and breathtaking views along the way. A treasured memory.
What a great loop. Had a lot of fun here, beautiful views and it wasn't too busy for a Thursday. Definitely a nice hike if you want to get a bit of a workout in too!
Really nice hike though a bit of work going up the right side. We left at about 10 am on a Monday and the parking lot was about half full. The trail was not too crowded—we passed about five groups over the distance. Nice view from the top. The right side is pretty open so make sure you are good with sunscreen and water
Wonderful place. The trail is 5.7 miles. It took a little less than 2 hrs to reach the top and another 1 hr to go down. Rain made the whole journey more enjoyable. Love New Mexico ❤
There were some tough spots. We only went about 0.75 miles in before hitting this beautiful overlook. Please be sure to bring water and wear appropriate hiking shoes.
Great and convenient parking area. A challenging hike or trail run, to be sure, with lots of uphill, but not with relentless uphill, giving you the occasional break on the way up or down. Terrific views of neighboring mountains and into Taos itself.
Fantastic, gorgeous hike. Approximately 6 mile loop with about 1500' total elevation change. Parking and bathroom available.

Me and my Partner had the pleasure of staying in Casita A while we stayed for an extended time in Taos. The property is peaceful, beautiful and welcoming. We loved staying in the Casita, it is incredibly cozy and includes everything you need. The kit
It has been a long Path leading me to this sacred place. I've been in temples with Baba-ji in my Sleeping Dreams, however this visit was my first in my Waking Dream. The love and dedication of his devotees is everywhere you look; the scents and sound
First time to Taos skiing and stayed here several days in the large main home. Lots of space with a big kitchen, living and dining area. Our group had for adults and seven kids, mostly teenagers. Kids took over the big dining table for card games etc
This place looks like itâs not in Taos! Itâs a hidden gem inside of the Taos Valley Lodge hotel. Spacious, super clean, welcoming. Large variety of coffees and tea shakers, along with some baked goodies and burritos. Fast wi-fi and lots of space
This is a delicious little food truck!!! Everything we've tried on the menu has been delicious. The fries and onion rings are some of the best I've had! The staff is super friendly and proces are reasonable!!
We have been traveling to Taos for nearly 30 years. We will never stay anywhere else again! The Old Taos Guesthouse has always been ideally located close to town with amazing views. However, now that they have added the new casitas, we can the choose
Had an outstanding experience staying here. Rooms are spacious, charming, and comfortable, the value is excellent, and the staff was extremely helpful and personable. What puts it above and beyond other options is the free breakfast spread, which was
