I stopped here after a long drive from Big Bend. Given the super low price, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a pretty simple motel, but it's perfectly clean, comfy, and the service is very friendly. Don't hesitate to stay at this excellent budget property when traveling through Van Horn!
Van Horn is our overnight stop every time we're passing through on long road trips. The Desert Inn is always where we stay. They are reliably friendly and the rooms are always clean and well maintained. Thanks Desert Inn for being so dependable.
Super friendly hosts, very clean and comfortable room. Double bed good for two normal size people or one typical American sized person. Nice hot shower and cold A/C. Bed was clean and very comfy! All for less than half than half the price of a big chain hotel.
Perfect for our little stop through Texas. The owner was very nice and accommodating. And it's right next to the yummiest little Cuban cafe! Highly recommend!
Clean rooms, very pleasant staff and hot showers with strong water pressure. Only issue was the tv that was blocky. I would stay here again as the price was very reasonable.
Very clean and comfortable room. Obviously, the owner/manager takes pride in providing a nice room for their guest. Can't beat the price for the room I was in.
We broke down (me, my husband, and our 2 year old daughter) and stayed at this motel. They were very friendly and understanding. My husband is a mechanic so he fixed our truck and this motel is right next to the auto parts store. It's also right next to probably the most authentic Mexican food you can buy north of the border. It's a super simple set up, clean and inexpensive. They don't charge per person. Everyone managing the hotel was very sweet and polite and really helped us figure a lot of things out. J is an amazing office assistant and the housekeeper is very good at what she does. I'm really glad we stayed there. 100% where we needed to be.
The place may not look like much from the outside.. But the place was clean and the beds comfortable. Friendly staff. The only strike against it would be the trains at night running right behind the hotel.
Honestly, this hotel is surprisingly nice for being in a small town. Room was spacious and clean! The free breakfast had a lot of great options. The staff were all nice. Definitely would stay here again.

Stayed here for a night on our way out west. Nice very well maintained property. Lady in the office was very welcoming. Very close to the intestate and the fairly new truck stop next door, but even so it's quiet. Easy pull throughs, good full hookup
Many trucks and cars can stop here at a time. The place is wide and open. There are three showers for the truck drivers i guess. I think i also saw four small washers and dryers there as well. The gas and diesel price is probably a little bit costly
