I work for a tow company and did a jump start for a AAA member here. The parking lot here is always full of seemingly homeless people and also seems to attract a lot of drug related activities at all hours of the day and night.
Well only one time did I ever rent a room there; as soon as i sat on the bed I started to itch really bad & break out & told myself oh hell nah I cant do this, & went right back to the office & got my money back, & rented a room across the street at the Budget Motel; which was a much better place to stay.
Don't come here if you're from out of town. This is where all the lowly, vagrant type people in the area go. I'm guessing they give out vouchers, because many if not most people seem homeless and or down on their luck here. Be careful if you're not familiar with the area, a lot of ghetto type people here, tweakers, blues addicts and drunks. Most of them know each other, they're not all bad and crime isn't super high overall in Barstow, but we get our share of random horror and violence. Stay inside after dark and you'll be fine, be careful going out at dark around this location.
We pulled up. Got out of the car. Visited reception where they wanted to keep hold of my credit card. We saw many people hanging around the rooms and carpark.||We got back in the car and left. ||We booked a nice chain hotel down the road for 20$ more including breakfast. ||It was worth loosing our booking cost to see our car in the morning with 4 wheels and my credit card is safe. ||Save your money and book elsewhere. |||It's 1 star, as this platform won't let you give Zero.|
Don't even think about staying here bug Infested and I still got bits from them bugs and still suffing
The rooms weren't that bad people put to much on it. The rooms are clean. sheets clean, they put brand new towels in restroom. Staff is friendly. there's a lot of people outside but if you don't talk to them they don't talk to you. I'll prove it to you i will upload some photos.
Was offered a room through the county homeless program and stayed there for a week. Saw too much that me and my kids could no longer see and stay there. Nothing has improved at the motel and I feel bad for those that have to live in a miserable condition like this. The first thing you notice when you walk in the room is the smell of hard drugs and broken windows. Please take care of your selfs. You matter in this world. May the lord bless you all. Amen
This hotel, we booked because we were looking for a cheap place to sleep for the night. It was indeed cheap. However, travellers should be aware that sandpaper would be softer than their tiny towels. There was no bar soap at all in the room. So, bring your own. There was a mini fridge and a microwave. Disabity guests should ask for a lower floor. The beds were not very comfortable, but was about what I would expect for the price. The front desk person was nice enough. This is an older motel. The curtains were a bit moth eaten or wholly. The carpets appear stained and in need of cleaning. The shower is very narrow. I felt more comfortable sideways in it, as I am a heavy person. There are not any safety bars, if you require them on the toilet or shower. It was indeed a cheap place to crash. My best recommendation is to bring your own towels and soap bars.
A great side trip from the main road to see some cool rock formations. The off-road trail was easy to drive, and the colors and scenery were amazing. It's a nice, quiet place to explore and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
I usually find roads to be just that, but Route 66 is different. It feels melancholy, wistful. It makes me think of all the hopes, dreams, and individuals that traveled it going somewhere in search of better futures. Worth a visit, a pull over, and a
I am addicted to Mexican food and La Mesa is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The food is incredibly delicious. Street tacos had a lot of additions and well-seasoned meat. Sopapilla is also heavenly. If you're nearby, be sure to t
Absolutely a home town, mom and pop vibe. Loved that everyone who came in and out knew each other. And whatâs better is the food. Ordered the carnitas empanadas and sopes Al pastor. Just delicious. Meat was wonderfully tender, didnât need salsa
