Des Plaines Family Restaurant & Pancake House - American restaurant in Des Plaines - 1769 Miner St, USA

Had to try this place so close to where I live . The lot is always full on the weekends and for breakfast. I wanted to try it for lunch since I think they have the breakfast down to a fine art. I had the chicken avocado club and it was really good . Crispy bacon and presented very well. Came with soup and another side. I could only eat 1/2 of the sandwich after having potato soup and cottage cheese. So I was able to box it up for dinner tonight. Portions are good sized -bring your appetite or u will need a box. Place was clean, food was fresh and fast, and service was super friendly and with a smile to boot !! Lots of lunches were going out the door and it looked like lots of regular customers were coming in. So you can’t go wrong, breakfast or lunch this is a great local restaurant !! Only open till 3 so get in before then! For sure I’ll be back!!

They do an excellent job with keeping your coffee mug full! They don’t skimp on the avocado. Lots to choose from for breakfast, plus lunch. I had the banana crepe drizzled with chocolate. It wasn’t overly sweet which was pleasantly surprising. All the dishes looked well put together. There were 5 of us, I got pics of a couple plates.

Diner Guy Here, What a great family spot. I came here with my little from the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chicago program and we had a very nice breakfast.

My First and definitely not my last time. The Food was so delicious. The coffee was delicious and fresh. Didn't even have to ask once for a refill they were on top of it at all times. The staff was super friendly,very caring and polite. The food was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it lol 😆 😅

I couldn't believe how great the food was, Thank You. I want to specifically mention the Fiesta Omelet. This omelet was the softest omelet I ever had form a pancake house. Shame on you IHOP. I want to thank Maria my server and truly thank the chef Gonzalo. You guy are wonderful.

We found the place and it is GREAT! It isn't much from the outside, but GO IN!!!! Our waitress Maria was wonderful. The food was fabulous, and the prices are reasonable. The Greek chicken breast was yummy! It is close to Lutheran General hospital, so we will be back in a month!!😁😁

This place is proudly Family Owned. I love that. The vibe makes YOU feel like family, waitstaff is friendly, patient and diligent. I had the BEST chilaquiles I ever had a restaurant in my life! I will definitely be back lots. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
