Deluxe Inn Hickory - Motel in Hickory - 325 U.S. Hwy 70 SW, USA

I recently stayed last week at the Deluxe Inn, and felt totally comfortable because security was amped up. However returned last night to get a room and didn’t because I was extremely disappointed with the lack of security. There were no security personnel visible at any time during my stay, and the entry points were not monitored. This made me feel very unsafe, especially at night. Additionally, the locks on the room doors seemed flimsy and easy to break. For the price I paid, I expected a much higher level of security. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their safety. Then to top everything else, I find out they actually fired the security guard. I’m done with this place.

This place is more for locals than vacationers tbh. Not allowed to have visitors. Nobody can come on the property after 10pm Etc. It's clean though and the people that run it are nice. Half the rooms don't even have working showers and they still rent those rooms to people LIVING THERE. But don't provide a room where they all can shower. Crazy. There is a large back lot they could make use of by creating spaces for activities. Such as a pool for swimming. I really Wish there was a pool. Or basketball court.

This place is a haven for drug use. We stayed two nights and they kept trying to charge all kinds of different amounts. Each employee tried to give you a different price. The woman increases what the men charge and it's just ridiculous bc this place is NOT worth 85 and 95 a night. Stay away. We ended up going to the Quality Inn and they charged us literally 30 bucks less and they're a way better hotel. So yeah, screw the "Deluxe" Inn... More like Degenerate Inn.

I'm not so sure. We pulled in very late last night, we needed to sleep for a few hours. Husband checked us in, he had to call the motel to get somebody to the front, she was sleeping, small town kind of slow outside so I can accept that, I never seen that before which goes to show "first time for everything"! I was a little worried about a guest running around without a shirt looking for a lighter, he was for sure on something, poor guy that gave him a light couldn't get away fast enough. Guest wanted to hang out and talk. Got to our room, found a dead roach belly up in the shower, at least it wasn't camping out with his friends and family! Then I sat on the bed, I do have some what a issue with this,>>> plastic mattress cover. Yeah, I'm 51 not a 2 years old, plastic makes the bed hot, and it's loud, so no sleep for me, but hubby seems to be doing ok! I had to use the bathroom and my eyes were adjusted to the dark so I didn't turn anything on to keep from waking him up, toilet leaked, water all over the floor, the entire bathroom floor is a puddle. I stepped in it and I am grossed out! Loud people outside early, maybe they have hearing problems or something, but I heard them great. Air conditioner does work great, good thing cause the bed is freaking hot!!!

First off, let me start by saying no one who answers the phone can speak English. If you are going to own a hotel, you need to at least have a basic understanding of the English language. I called to see if someone I knew had checked in. A woman answered, I gave her the names of the people I was looking for. She didn't even bother to check before very rudely saying NO and then hung up on me. While all this was taking place I could hear an extremely loud Indian man screaming in the background. So I called back, the same woman answered, I asked to speak to the manager or owner. She said they weren't there (what a convenient excuse). I then proceeded to ask what the managers name was and when he will return. I literally almost had to spell it out for this woman four times before she quickly spouted off some odd name Abdul or something like that. She wouldn't spell it out for me either. She couldn't tell me when the manager would be in. So I asked if she would be there tomorrow morning. She quickly said yes and hung up the phone. There is a great example of what sort of horrible customer service you will receive at this place. The rooms are disgusting. I found mold. As well as piss stains on the floor of the bathroom. Hair everywhere. The place looked like it had been abandon both inside and out. They don't have phones in the rooms. That should tell you something right there. For $75 a night. I would have been more comfortable sleeping outside in my car. I am going to report this hotel to the health department because it is bad. I wouldn't want my worst enemy staying there.

The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. No bugs or trouble outside. Nice washers and dryers and ice machine. Mini fridge and microwave work great. Plumbing is a small issue that can be overlooked. Good weekly rate.

It wasnt the worst place I have stayed in. I have stayed at this hotel a few different times over the past few months. I am a contractor, and work in this area often. I try to stay in hotels around the $50 range, and this one fits. I have noticed at this hotel, that the few times I have visited, the same people stay (live) here. The floors in the rooms are tile, so as to mop the DNA up. The internet is actually better than some of the other places I have stayed, and the guest laundry is fairly cheap, and the washer and dryer actually do their job. The police watch this place....as I found the police walking door to door with a K9, and 30 minutes later saw a woman in handcuffs being put in a squad car. Awesomeness.

Not even close to being worth what they are charging!! We were treated horrible by the owners and CJ, from the first night we stayed and every night thereafter!! The only good thing about the place is the sweet cleaning lady, whom from what we saw,, they also treat horribly!!
