If you love the beautiful trees in the park, let’s stop the county from allowing these builders from not following our County Ordinances including the County allowing it. The subdivision of SpringHill is getting infilled with many of the vacant lots being stripped with no regard to our County Ordinances. If you want to preserve our beautiful landscaping then please speak up. Write the County Commissioners and ask them to follow the guidelines given to them to preserve our County! If you’re interested in the Ordinance go to the Hernando County website, look up ordinances, go to Chapter 10 Community Appearance, and read sections 10–22 through 10-36. Then, ask why our county is allowing our natural habitat to be stripped of natural habitation and replaced with sticks of trees. Also, ask yourself where the wildlife is going including our Sandhills Cranes!
This park used to be good, about ten years or so ago. I understand they are in the process of cleaning it up and all, but, the playground is lacking. They need better lighting on the walking path, as, once it gets dark I wouldn't dare walk the whole length for fear of being jumped. This park has had it share of people having run ins with the law. I feel they need to enact more safety features as well. One particular visit, the lighting was so bad, while walking through the grass, I didn't notice "holes" in the lawn. I wound up falling down hard on my knee. I already have bad knees so I couldn't walk right for days. They should've had it blocked off with that terrain being as bad as it was. This park is about a 15 minute walk from my home, so, it's convenient to go to. Hopefully, once they're finished renovating it'll be safer and cleaner.
I'm allergic to dogs, so I appreciate that it doesn't allow them. Some folks don't always follow the rules, though. It's nicely lit for night walks.
There's something about parks that are super open that I really don't like. I have a toddler and I had to try to keep him from running into the parking lot, a grown man's basketball game and various other locations. It is a decent park. It's probably great for older kids but for a toddler it doesn't work great. I prefer playgrounds that have a fence around the playground area with a gate.
Tried this park out recently with the family and wow did it please us. There is literally so much to do here from jungle gyms, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, soccer field, huge walking trails and so much space to fly kites (we did). I would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been here yet!
I come here often with my son and I have never had any problems or concerns when visiting. They are busy with groups and sports games going on, but you can still always find space whether it's on the tennis court or in the baseball field or in the park. And everyone who comes here so far has been nothing but decent inappropriate, no obscene or noxious activities going on. Also a very safe feeling.
The playground area was recently updated, its nice but it extremely higher and kids have more probability breaking their necks, the barrier that separated the playground from the rest of the park was removed which gave parents a sense of security and the amount of swings for kids and toddlers went from 10 to 5 and the great shade the trees provided were shaved away. Also the landscaping looks even but when you walk on it, it has craters.
Predominantly clean, decent sized, pretty. Only issue was biting ants but nothing you can really do about that. Variety of different sports areas, play ground, beautiful views along the walk path. Pretty well maintianed. No dogs allowed even to walk, so pretty unhappy about that.

What a great spot. We spent a few hours paddling around and loved it. Wife had 2 manatee go right under her kayak. Didn't know what they were at first... Saw lots of big fish in the water also. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. The ramp is
I want to keep this place a secret! Small but awesome park/ Beach area. You better get there early as parking fills up quick and then itâs 1 out and 1 in. Snack Shack has awesome food and staff. Clean and a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy
Great river to paddle board or kayak. Itâs six miles upstream and is a good workout. The payoff is you can float back. Itâs harder at low tide, more current. Beautiful scenery when you get to the state park. Itâs like being in the middle of a j

Took my son and his girlfriend here for the Friday 13th special. Lauren was amazing. She pierced my son's girlfriend's nose. Then did her tattoos. After that she did my son's tattoo. She explained everything as she was doing it as it was his first on
