Delta Hotels Basking Ridge - Featured Reviews (340)
The room was clean and cooled down upon arrival. Nice updated bathroom. The TV was on when i got to the room, so I wondered if someone was in the room. Nice gesture, but it would have been nice if the front desk person had mentioned this tidbit. The mini fridge wasn't working properly as I think the cabinet it is in needs some ventilation. It was set on "max" and it was warm inside. Tossed out all the food I put in it, thinking it might get cold. No ice machines and nothing telling me I had to get ice at the front desk. No TV channel guide in the room, as I have found in other hotels. Being from out-of-town having a small list of major channels would have been helpful rather than having to watch the onscreen guide to decide. Thus I didn't watch it much at all.
Rooms are clean, slightly larger than normal and windows open to a wooded area behind the hotel. Breakfast is not free and it's slightly outdated but upkeep is great so it doesn't look run down. Overall very nice and locked in a very quiet area of town.
Marriott hotels are always our top choice when traveling. Delta was exceptionally helpful before our guests arrived. The receptionist, Dominic, assisted my brother in transitioning from Gold Elite to Platinum tier. Although the account hadn't yet shown the Platinum status, she accommodated our request and offered lounge access, a benefit for Platinum members. This greatly helped my brother and his guest after their long journey. During and after our stay, Dominic provided professional and warm service whenever I needed assistance. A couple of years ago, we visited Delta when it was undergoing renovations. Despite some facilities being closed then, we now appreciate the remodeling, which has created a much more comfortable environment for our stay.
I've stayed here 3 separate times. I really really love this hotel, because they have 2 king size beds in the rooms that are SO comfortable. We stay in many hotels when traveling, and I really wish all hotels would do this. But I did notice that the hotel was showing some wear and tear this past visit, especially on the ceilings. Looks to be some water damage happening. To the owners: Please owners don't let this hotel go downhill, this is my favorite hotel in the area!
There was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE spider sitting right on the toilet roll on our second night staying here. I'm not really scared of spiders, thankfully, but it was a jump-scare right out of a horror movie. This location is somewhat remote; our view out of the windows was of the woods and a bright full moon that shone right into our room. The woods might explain the spider, but it felt more like a motel. You could tell it was a very, very outdated building that they did a pretty bad job of renovating. All of the ceilings are very low, the elevator is tiny and creepy, the walls have marks on them and the carpets didn't feel very clean. It just seems like a bad attempt at the classic Delta style. Service is okay, they remembered which days we requested to come in and not come in. They were weird about water; they offered complimentary water in plastic bottles upon check-in. There was also water in the room. When we came back from our NYC trip on the second day, late at night, my husband asked the front-desk for another bottle of water (This should be understandable given the location is pretty far from any shops or retail and we didn't have another place to get water from for miles.) She gave him such a weird look and hesitated as if she wasn't sure she was allowed to or like she wanted to ask him why. Just not very friendly.
Great location, beds and Customer Service (CS). Those were the good parts. But no microwave in any rooms, when asked front desk, I was told to go downstairs for the bar. Coffee machine broke in one room, no exhaust in bathroom and biggest of them all no LOCK on bathroom. Come on how can I people go to bathroom with lock? Especially when staying with family?
Rooms were updated/clean but the rest of the hotel was dated. I could hear music playing all night in the room, maybe the hotel lobby music? Told the front desk, but nothing was done or offered to resolve the issue. Some of the ev chargers were only charging at 1.5kw instead of 6kw so our car didn't charge overnight. The chargers were the main reason we stayed here and due to low speeds ended up having to stop and charge in the morning. Construction on the road to the hotel made it impossible to get to the hotel one night. Had to stop and ask a police officer to move cones to get to the hotel. No warning of this from the hotel.
Most hotels I've been to are good for one night. Check in, get your belongings sorted and grab a meal from downstairs. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. But if you're here for anything else, I would not recommend. First of all, the breakfast buffet is only on when there are enough guests to have a buffer. Second, if your computer breaks and you have to use their computer that they offer complimentary... be warned. There is loud, blaring music in the same area where the computers are and a speaker that blasts it right above you. It's impossible to focus or concentrate. The dinners were overpriced and terrible. You barely get half of a meal and they charge you double for it. The WiFi was also pretty spotty. I have no idea how this hotel is rated anything other than 2 stars. On the weekdays, they're not busy at all - so they raise their prices. On the weekends, they're busier, so they lower them. I was able to snag 3 nights at $80/night here from priceline. Then, the next day, the price went up to over $250! When I was left stranded, frantically trying to find a hotel at the same price I paid, they locked me out of my room and told me if I didn't pay for an entire night, I wouldn't be able to collect my belongings. ||||From a business standpoint, if your bookings are slow, lower your prices to increase the bookings. Raise them on the weekends when there are more bookings. Their way of doing business really doesn't make too much sense to me. So, I really can't recommend this hotel at all.
We found this place randomly based on the roadside advertisement That featured a band with a cello player. (Sons of Serendip). My eight-year-old is learning to play the cello, and as soon as I googled the band, I knew we had to go and see them. If yo
Have been taking advantage of the diverse landscape of NJ, and very happy I visited this place. Trails are great, well maintained, but you have to bring some sort of bug repellent (eco friendly of course), to avoid getting violated (everywhere, t
