The venue itself is fine, and the city of Del Mar is beautiful. Came for parts and oddities expo. However, the traffic to get here is horrendous off this exit!!!! Honestly I'll never come back just because the gridlock here is ridiculous even for a much smaller expos. I've been to quite a few venues but didn't understand how they can't get it together to get traffic to flow better for this expo. The fair times are even more worse and it's at least an hour to get there....last year was no parking left!!! If you have to come, I recommend get a hotel near by and walk. Save yourself the agony of anxiety and you'll get your necessary steps in, Eff traffic!
The San Diego County Fair (turns Del Mar Fairgrounds into an epic Whimsical Wonderland of Fun ) is an annual event that never fails to deliver an unforgettable experience filled with joy, excitement, and wonder. As a part of our trip down to San Diego we got to visit the fair as well and enjoy everything that it had to offer. The only thing and i i'd repeat the only thing that gets a bit annoying is getting into the fairgrounds since the traffic is backed up all the way to the freeway exit. We took an Uber and were dropped in a zone that was dedicated for rideshare service though the time to get in was still a lot. The San Diego County Fair is a celebration of creativity and entertainment. From thrilling rides (I am a bit scaredy cat with those but wife loved most of these out there) that offer panoramic views of the fairgrounds to games that challenge your skills, there is something for everyone. The live performances, including musical acts and awe-inspiring shows, kept us entertained throughout the day. The fair's dedication to offering a diverse range of entertainment is truly commendable. Hate to state that we missed watching Lynyrd Skynyrd performing live that evening as we had a dinner lined up right at the time. The fair is not only a feast for the eyes but also for the taste buds. The variety of food options is staggering, from classic fair fare like corn dogs , fried chicken, burgers and fries and cotton candy to inventive and mouthwatering creations . The food alone is so worth the visit! The fairgrounds (about 370 acres ) turns into a sprawling wonderland of attractions. From the adorable farm animals in the petting zoo ( we loved feeding the butterflies, the lorikeets and petting quite a few animals in the barn out there) to the art exhibitions that showcase local talent, there's an endless array of things to see and do. The fair's dedication to promoting arts and culture is evident throughout the event. The San Diego County Fair is a fantastic destination for families. There are dedicated areas for kids with rides, games, and activities that will keep children of all ages entertained for hours. You could see them getting back in line again and again with an endless spurt of energy refuelling them with every activity that they would pursue in the fair :) Considering the sheer amount of entertainment, attractions, and food options available, the ticket prices are more than reasonable. The value for money is exceptional, especially considering the memories and experiences you take home. Whether you're a local or a visitor to San Diego, the fair is an event that should not be missed. We did leave with a heart full of happiness and a profound appreciation for the magic of this wonderland. Absolute recommendation for individuals and families alike! Cheers!!!
We had a blast at the fair! They had some cool hidden areas we didn't know about last year like Paul Bunyan's wood cutting show or the hidden sunflower lounge. I highly recommend going. Friday was kids get in free. I don't know if it's every Friday though. I definitely recommend getting the bucket of cookies. It's $26 but there's a ton and they're super soft.
The Del Mar Fair is undeniably a fun and expansive event. My kids had a blast, and there were fantastic food options to enjoy. However, it's worth mentioning that the ride tickets can be quite expensive, which might be a drawback for those looking for budget-friendly options amidst the fair's vast offerings. #DelMarFair
Went there for a High School art Exhibition in the summer during the State Fair. The grounds were tidy. Definitely a fine venue.
Pretty neat fair! It's a pretty massive fair and the main attraction is obviously fried food. They have some weird foods like deep fried Oreos, fried frog legs, and wild concoctions of ice cream with fried foods. Parking is $15 online, and the ticket to enter is $20. There's plenty of parking. The food inside and the tickets for rides are extremely expensive, be prepared lol. The Ferris wheel was pretty fun, they loop you around 3 times which is nice. The view from above is also really cool. There's also a ski-style lift that takes you from one end of the fair to another, I'd definitely recommend. There's a TON of shops with cool items. The venues also have a lot of cool decorations and strange artifacts (lot of fossils, minerals, memorabilia, etc). At the back of the fair there's also an axe-throwing and axe-chopping show. Really neat place with something for everyone.
This is our favorite fair grounds- it’s filled of vendors, live entertainment, food, merchandise, exotic and farm animals and educational and creative exhibitions. The best part is having the spectacular Independence Day celebration on the last day. As a little girl, I participated for a rodeo performance in 90’s and since then I have introduced the location to my kids and it has become a tradition. Hands down my favorite location for the holiday.
Super fun on opening day! Great weather and nice track. Join the Diamond Club for additional benefits throughout the season.

Beautiful place to visit. Itâs an ocean facing coffee place and has a variety of drinks including their own house made beans and special coffee drinks. I visited the place while visiting Torrey Pines. The place has both indoor and outdoor sitting.
Im grateful for⦠Enjoying good brunch at this top spot with amazing ocean view. Short rib was very good little bit greasy but great portion of meat and crisp baked potatoes. I bet Breeze and Pacifica share the same kitchen. Their rib is so similar.
We loved our stay. The office staff are wonderful and very accommodating. Our room didn't have a microwave so they brought one to our room to use. Everyone was so pleasant. I gave the room 4 stars because even though the bed was comfortable, it was s
