My favorite of the Door County maritime museums. Interesting exhibits and very friendly staff make this an amazing place to stop. Extremely clean, affordable, and engaging. One of my favorite places in Door County
Lots of detail and interesting items to learn about the ships and shipwrecks of Lake Michigan. Tons of interesting stories to hear about throughout the building. There's even a full size ship that you can walk through and several videos and interactive pieces. Well worth the stop.
Despite being tucked away in a corner of Door County, this museum is rich in history, especially as it relates to the treacherous waters known as "Death's Door". It was amazing to learn how many ships have been lost in this area! One person I spoke with called it the "Bermuda Triangle of Door County" which seems to fit well. Check it out if you like history and are in the area!
Small but gives a good overview of motors, and fishing industry of Door County. If you like antique, you will love this place. It was great to walk through the fishing boat.
Nice little informative museum! We enjoyed the displays, videos, and walking aboard the boat in the museum. You could probably read and see almost everything here in about 1.5 hours, depending on how fast you read! Also a small gift shop here, and I was able to get some lighthouse postcards for my collection that I hadn’t found anywhere else yet. The gentleman working here is also very pleasant and does a great job. Thanks for an awesome visit!
A small but very interesting museum. I don't live near water so I learned a lot about the shipwrecks and commercial fishing. Staff was very welcoming and I was happy to support a small, local museum. Thanks for maintaining the history of the area!
For the price, it's a good value and a nice way to pass an hour learning more about the fabric of Door County and its culture. This is a small museum with a lot of heart.
Professionally clean little museum packed floor to ceiling with Great Lakes maritime 🎨 facts, information & history.
Knowledgeable customer friendly employee.
Hand sanitizer in conspicuous patron areas as well as immaculately clean restrooms.
I rediscovered my interest in the tragedy of the Edmund Fitzgerald courtesy of our wonderful hour or two visit.
Thank you, Death's Door Maritime Museum staff, for this unique treasure of Great Lakes history! 🛳

A really cool space run by a great family and helpful staff. Gluten free bakery with exceptionally delicious items. These photos were taken at the 2019 Door County Norrh/Kick Ash Halloween Party and Pumpkin carving.
This is a nice place to take the family for a picnic. There is a nice area to swim with a beach, pier, gazebo, and playground. There is also a bathroom here to use.
This is one of the most beautiful places to sit and watch the sunset. Arrive early! A crowd shows up 15 minutes before the sunset. Itâs not parking you have to worry about, itâs getting a good seat.
Awesome park! It was so quiet it was almost scary! I got there a little too late so I didnât have the opportunity to explore like I wanted to but, Iâm excited to visit this park again.
Great hiking. The trail was generally level with little elevation gain. The distance from the trailhead to the estuary was about a mile. The is wide, and the woods are open, with the undergrowth not overwhelming the forest floor.
