Days Inn by Wyndham San Diego Vista - Hotel in Vista - 630 Sycamore Ave, USA

This hotel did some things well and fell short on a few items but at the price I would still recommend it if you're looking to stay in the area. We were in town for two nights for a welcome party at Pure Project Brewery and a wedding and reception at River Gardens.|I didn't find the room noisy, but we were on the top floor and I use ear plugs.|The black out curtains were effective, and if you unplugged the microwave and turned the clock onto its face the room was sufficiently dark. The bed was comfortable, the coffee maker worked, there was a fridge (no frezer) and the shower was hot, however the hot valve turned one way and the cold valve another so it was confusing. The interior was worn and could use some paint and some trim with some wood putty, but that's just aesthetics. The floor is tile and was not that clean. Kind of sticky and walking around it with bare feet turned your feet black,so maybe bring slippers or sandals, luckily I had sandals. They use key cards and on the first night ours stopped working and we were locked out. We had to go to the office and get new ones, I guess the clerk didn't put enough time on the cards for our two night stay, that was unfortunate and completely avoidable. One weird quirk of this hotel is that you have to request your room be cleaned and replenished by 8am. When we requested it because there was no card to hang on your door like you typically find in a Motel they said there was a sign when we checked in and we were too late, but we complained and said that there was a lot of commotion there when we got there and we didn't see the sign and they didn't point it out and so they conceded on allowing us to have our room cleaned and replenished. So be warned that you literally have to ask them to clean the room.|To summarize the hotel provides me what I'm looking for, a nice comfortable bed, a dark room to sleep in, a hot water to shower and a coffee maker so I can wake up in the morning. They could actually be a really nice hotel but because of the lack of clean floor and the Aesthetics I would say they are just a motel. But at this price you get what you pay for and there is value there. If I was to make one suggestion to the hotel I would say please scrub those floors! Otherwise the room was clean. I should also note that I read all the reviews and I saw some bad reviews saying things about noise and cleanliness and bugs and called ahead to ask them about it and they said well if you come in and you find the rooms are not up to your standard we will give you a full refund, so they certainly stand behind their hotel. If anybody asked me would I stay there again or would I recommend it I would have to say yes. I would just make sure I bring my sandals and be careful when controlling that shower that's backwards for some reason. And also I would make sure that I would call the night before and say I want my room cleaned and replenished every night. I would make sure that they gave me enough time on my keys. Lastly there is free parking here. I've stayed at hotels that charge and it's nice to get free parking.

I hardly leave reviews but I am giving this hotel a one due to the way the supervisor speaks to her employees! We stayed in this hotel for 2 days and were able to witness the way the supervisor demeans her employees! My husband and I were passing the hallway and heard her yelling at her employees to hurry up and to cut corners since they were busy and needed rooms. What I find ironic is that the supervisor stayed in one room for 2 hours talking to someone over the phone and then told her employee to hurry up and clean the room! I understand work needs to be accomplished however, the way she is with her housekeepers is not okay! We unfortunately over heard her telling one of the house keepers she had to hurry up and that she couldn’t take a personal call because if she did she will tell the manager and have her fired . I. Just don’t understand how someone like her can be a supervisor of hard working ladies! Hotel do better with your staffing.

Wish that wasn’t the title but here we are. We found a used insulin needle on the floor. One of us could’ve gotten pricked by a dirty needle. This beats the dirty floors which weren’t swept or mopped before our arrival, the smell of urine at the base of the stairs, the stained/old sheets and humid rooms. We were staying here along with about 40 other people for a wedding and we leave unimpressed. The only positive out of this was that for our future trips, we will pay more to stay in a decent place. This place, never again, would never recommend it.

Positive: The beds were extremely comfortable Negative: The hotel is la Quinta not days inn so I was confused driving in until I seen the small white sheet covering la Quinta that said days inn, also they put us 3rd floor and no elevator which sucked

When I checked in, I went to view my room and it was not yet ready even though I checked in late and had to go out into town to pass time. The room stunk of cigarette smoke and I believe it said non-smoking. Gave me headaches and caused nose bleeds. Pool had leaves and debris and a pole was in the water (was not the net catcher). All this and it was not worth the expense for two nights. Decided to check out earlier and go somewhere else because of this.

Awful customer service, damp corridors odor, cockroaches infestation, at least my room. At checking ver friendly staff, but when I reported the issue upon my room at night and requested another room, the young lady at the front desk stated that she had no authority to do so, for me to come back in the morning and request a refund. That was a lie too as the manager will be till Monday. Stay away!!
