Days Inn by Wyndham Manitowoc - Featured Reviews (4)
We booked this back in December when it was called Econo Inn, only to find out (to our surprise) that they changed ownership. We would have appreciated an email or call that this had happened since we drove around a while looking for Econo Inn. Other than that, they are doing a good job in the transition as the room and facility is clean and neat, albeit sparse. The service was good and the room met the essentials. With more time renovating and adding some amenities (like hairdryers), it should be a very good place to stay. The breakfast was minimal...they need to add protein items such as yogurt, sausage, eggs, etc. to meet our needs.
First, this is not a review I would like to leave but I would want to know this if I were traveling to the area especially in the summer. Pros: Safe area, service was okay, room was clean, beddings were all clean and comfy. Cons: Really old hotel (used to be Econolodge, but now Days Inn). No signs to show you where to go on really dusty and dirty front glass windows/doors. But my biggest issue was being unable to sleep at night because the AC unit in my room (119) didn't work. It was set at 60 and will won't blow cool air. No worries. I can sleep with a fan. Called up to the front for a fan. She said they didn't have one. Simply reassured me the AC unit worked without coming to verify. I tried all I could but because I wax already dressed for bed and had to be up for work at 6am, couldn't go purchase a fan. Tossed and turned all night. Had very little sleep if any. Asked to have a manager call me. Still haven't had a call back. Lastly, plan accordingly. Breakfast is advertised but your options are cereal, toast, a waffle maker and bananas. I grabbed a couple of bananas and off to work for 16 hours with little sleep. I know how hard it is to run a small business and I'll edit to update this post if some of these are fixed, but I wouldn't want someone else to go through what I went through. Sleep is a huge part of being away from home. Next time, I'll pay the extra $20 to go to the next hotel.
I would recommend this place only if you are going to the Maritime Museum or the venue at The Wharf. We paid $121 for the night and the only reason we picked it is we were going to a concert at The Wharf only 4 blocks away which was walkable and the Museum is right across from that. The place itself is not in a great area and needs some work. It was an Econolodge and Wyndham made it a Days Inn. They still have the Econolodge sign on one side and a Days Inn sign on the other. The outside is not real great. There's no one at the front desk you have to dial zero and they come down to check you in. It looks like they might have painted a little and hung some new pictures but they forgot a few things. The room was pretty clean but there were no towel bars, hand soap, bath gel, Kleenex, the metal under the bed squeaked every time I turned over and the bed was really hard. We didn't do the breakfast thing but when I walked by there was hardly anything in there. Definitely I think we paid too much for it!!
The family that runs this place is SUPER friendly and they have great hospitality! The rooms are clean and reasonably priced! Location is great, really close to the water.

My daughter is truly enjoying classes at Lakeshore Tae Kwon Do. The leadership of Master Weber, Ms Cogswell, Ms Peltier & the other black belts that help the newer students & lower belts is top notch. You couldn't ask for a better group of role model
This is one of the best run CrossFit facilities we have visited, and we've worked out in CrossFit boxes all over the world! They have a great coaching staff- very knowledgeable and capable of scaling a WOD to any fitness level.
This was incredibly cool. Great experience going through and imagining life for those WW2 soldiers. Got to go through the deck and the main floor within the sub including torpedo rooms, sleeping quarters, engine rooms and dining areas. Kept my 3 kids
This is quite the spot for ice cream near Red Arrow Park and Red Arrow Beach. The friendly staffed allowed my wife and I to sample several delicious ice cream flavors. My wife had single scoop the WI Campfire Smores ( Graham flavored ice cream with
One of the best breweries I have visited this year. Friendly staff and a variety of beers. They have something for everyone here! My favorite here was the Gumbskull but The Superior was amazing too. Definitely drop by here if you are nearby.
What a hidden gem! We first heard about these gardens last year, and met up with family on a nice August day here. Itâs not a big area, but absolutely packed with gorgeous flower beds and manicured paths and breathtaking lakefront views. Itâs fre
