The only reason I give this a 1 is because they were open. It was a horrible experience. The we were there in August and the main air conditioning didn’t work. The room when we walked in smelled like mold and stale cigarettes. There were dark stains all over the carpet, and it felt damp. The room air was set on freezer temp and you could not change it, I’m sure to help cool the hallways. The bathroom was awful, the sink was cracked and leaked and the toilet DID.NOT.FLUSH. The bathroom door looked like at one time a crazed wolf tried to scratch its way out. I stripped the bed checked for bugs put the sheets back on and went to bed. Not before I accidentally looked behind my side table and found what looked like dirty tissues. We checked in at 1 am and had been driving for 8 hours otherwise we would have never stayed. We promptly left at 8 without a shower. We were too afraid to stop to eat at the breakfast that morning. We checked out told them about the toilet, and the check out person said “oh sorry” and wrote our concern down in a mostly full notebook. It was the worst stay ever.

WORST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED!! Elevator works 10% of the time and we had 3 different handicap people. They knew about this all weekend and never had anyone check it. Never was a posted sign. Wouldn't take anything off the bill just said we have a technician coming.. rooms so so but smelled like weed in the hall.. 1st room the gave us a key to was ALREADY occupied and we walked in!!

The hotel was dirty and dusty. The ice machine has been broken for months. Employees are extremely rude. The elevator constantly broke down, and I am disabled and had to take the stairs. The breakfast food was stale. The pool was "salty," and beyond that, the room was filthy with sheets that could not have been changed. There was a feces spot on my son's bed, and I am not sure what it was that was on mine. We had stayed there a lot in the past, but never again. The Department of Tourism should go check this gross hotel out. Even after a shower, I felt dirty. yuck

The only good thing I have to say is that the room air conditioning worked great. Then it went downhill. The room smelled musty, the TV wouldn’t work, no trash cans in the room or bathroom and killed a cockroach. We called the front desk on the room phone which was absolutely filthy. Someone came and fixed the TV and did bring a trash can but wasn’t concerned about the cockroach. The breakfast bar had no plates or napkins and had to search for someone to get them. I would not recommend to anyone. It definitely was not worth the $122 per night + tax.

I recently stayed on a Friday through Sunday for a family wedding here with my family. This place was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The lobby didn't have working AC and they had the doors propped open causing birds to be in the lobby where the swimming pool was. The pictures of the lobby and rooms were taken very long ago since this looks nothing like it now. I had to go to the front desk for towels, pool towels, and ice. We were on 3rd floor and every day many rooms were propped open for cleaning on multiple days and garbage was continually piled up in front of trash can in hallway entrance everyday. It was very hot and smelled. Our outlets were missing covers and the bathroom and pool areas had multiple spider webs and dead bugs. This is not worth the price and should get paid to stay there. There is no way code is being met here.

I’m writing from the perspective of someone whose friend stayed at this hotel for a night. When she first walked in the room, she immediately caught onto a foul stench of old meat. It was disgusting to just hear about so I can’t imagine actually staying there for myself. The bathroom also reeked of carrots, which is not nearly as bad, but it was a little hard to hear it in a derogatory sense as a vegan. But that wasn’t even the worst part. During her stay, she retracted bed bugs in her bed and only discovered them a few weeks after staying at her home. One morning, she woke up to find a small bed bug laying in her sheets and, eventually, looked at her pillow to see stains from them chowing down at her scalp. She had to clean her entire room out and move all of her belongings to the kitchen in her house, and had to replace all of her sheets, mattresses, and bags that she took with her to the hotel. My friend was very traumatized from her incident involving the Days Inn in Kirksville, and it really hurts me to see the effect it’s had on her and our friendship. The Days Inn at Kirksville made my friend’s days in at Kirskville a living nightmare. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed here last year for a reunion. Idk what happened in the last year, but the place was a mess. Clerks weren't at the desk, but instead laying on a couch chilling with a blanket and pillow. The elevator has a sign letting you know to bang on the door if it gets stuck. The room we walked into had the AC full blast, but the window wide open. The smoke detector was missing off the wall. The bed spread and the pillow cases had some stains on them. Pretty dirty overall. Wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. If I could rate lower than a 1 star then I would.

Air conditioner in the lobby not working. Ice machines not working. You have to try to find an employee to get you some ice. Trash overflowing at every door, breakfast area was filthy, the tables were very dirty for several hours and the person on duty sat on the couch playing on his phone. Would be a nice property if a very small effort was put into it. Will NOT ever stay there again.

My wife and I stayed here two nights. It was wonderful. Great staff, great room, wonderful experience!! There was a horrible thunderstorm and flash flooding and we didn't even know because the place was essentially sound proof. We would stay again!

Gyro is the best I have had anywhere. Wife had a chicken sandwich thing, she liked it. Both of us had fries. We also had the baklava. That was just okay. I come here every time I am in Kirksville.
