Days Inn by Wyndham Iselin / Woodbridge - Featured Reviews (510)
If you just need a hotel to come crash in at night without anything being above mediocre, its the perfect place to do so. The "breakfast" was just them turning on the juice machine. Apparently you could ask the front desk for granola bars or those mini muffin packaged things, but we did not. The room was "smoke free", but smelled just enough to set off my asthma like condition, and there was a cigarette burn in the comforter. Otherwise it was decent. The chairs were uncomfortable, the tub drain stopper didn't work, and for some reason the sprinklers were sticking out of the ceiling significantly (see photos) so its nothing to write home about, but decent. The microwave was standard cheap hotel microwave. Iykyk. The mini fridge was actually pretty big. The cleaners came in though and fixed up the bed in a way that was uncomfortable and made us have to take everything apart AGAIN to be able to use it. They also threw out stuff that wasn't trash? Took the insert for a box that was sitting on top of said box on the table, took the lid and straw off my dads reusable cup??? Like they were sitting attached to said cup which was full of liquid. They threw away some other things but those were less baffling. It was certainly a place.
The room was minimal at best. WAAAAY overpriced for a few hours sleep. No elevators, and only one ice machine that I saw. The check in guy didn't even tell us about the breakfast hours. Guess what can we expect from foreigners that buy up hotels in the USA.
We stayed our first night there after traveling through many states. Check in went well, considering we were checking in late at night.
We decided to extend the stay an extra night so we can drive to Staten Island because it wasn’t very far from there. The rest of our time it was a s*** show. After we returned from the Island, My husband asked for 2 more towels so we can shower. Now remember, we had arrived the night before so we wanted to shower that day after as well. He would not give him towels and they said we can have them in the morning (the day we have to check out) We paid $110 even though we were checking in at night then the next day another $110 for us to extend another night. $220 for 2 nights and we can only have 2 towels. Seriously?? I have never in my life experienced that while traveling.
So I went down and told him I want towels so I can shower. He argued with me about it and tried to tell me the same thing as my husband but I was like $220 i deserve to have another towel instead of having to use the same towel. I don’t know where he is from but here we like to shower at-least once a day! Disgusting!
Stayed from fri-mon. Price was different than what was previously stated. Paid for one night. Clerk said to figure it out tomorrow with person who gave price. Next day dollar amount discussed. Wanted to pay for rest of stay, nothing available (due to online booking). So with cash in hand, back to the room I went. Phone rang 5 minutes later, a room became available. (maybe due to cash in hand?)
Left hotel for a while, came back to a hot room. Power was off. I had stuff in the fridge. Went to front desk. Was told, “There was a problem with another room so they shut the power off.” OK, what about our stuff in the fridge?
Went back upstairs. A construction guy opened the door for me. As nice as that was, how does he know that was my room? Also, they can go in any room they want, at any time. Front desk clerk moved us to another room. The new room had an odor, but we had power.
A knock at the door, it was the cleaning person. My brother shook his head no and also said we didn’t need anything.
We were heading out again. I went to the bathroom and he went downstairs. A minute later, I heard noises. I cracked the bathroom door to peek out and a woman was coming in the bathroom at the same time. What!? So I was yelling, “what are you doing in here?!” She ran out. Once I was presentable, I went in the hallway and loudly stated “we didn’t need anything! Why did someone come in?” Down to the front desk again and explained what happened. Clerk replied “well they don’t speak English and I should have put the hanger on the door”. Really?!!!
I called 3 times (different days) to talk to the manager. Mailbox full. Finally spoke with her and a “sorry for the inconvenience” just doesn’t seem fitting. First time writing a review. I’d rather go out of my way to commend someone. So take this review for what it’s worth. DON'T STAY HERE!
There is a grab and go breakfast. But you have to get that from the front desk. (which we didn't know) There is no sign in the coffee room stating that.
BTW ... which door hanger says 'DO NOT DISTURB' or 'CLEANING NEEDED'. You pick.
The hotel was a great experience and the staff was great. The front desk staff of a Harry and Hector were both friendly and courteous. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did an awesome job. The hotel is very inviting and clean.
Positive: It was convenient Negative: As reported, there was too much noise and commotion in the hallway. It even sounded like there was going to be a fight one evening. Also, the shower floor was very slippery, so I recommend putting a pad at the bottom of the tub to eliminate an accident.
Rooms in need of renovation. Non smoking room smelled of smoke. Furniture in room was run down. Couple across the hall from me had a screaming, slamming doors fight til 3 am. I got 3 hours of sleep.
