Days Inn by Wyndham Ennis - Featured Reviews (336)
Booked hotel due to proximity to our destination and listed amenities, but will not stay here again! Wyndham site lists a pool, but it is actually a concrete patio now. Desk clerk said they haven’t had a pool for years, but it is still listed on site as well as shown on the safety/evacuation plan on the back of our room door. On arrival: The light bulb was missing from the fixture next to the bed, and my son shocked himself trying to turn it on. We asked the desk for light bulb to replace it; they would “try to find one.” We replaced it for them. The toilet lid was removed from seat and shoved behind the toilet. Desk response: “yeah that happens a lot.” We ended up fixing that for them too. The hair dryer was missing when listed as amenity on Wyndham site. Desk response: “Wyndham no longer requires us to provide that”…which is fine, just take it off the site! A used bar of soap from previous guest was left on the ledge in the bathroom; had to ask desk for a new packaged soap as none was left in the room. Not technically listed as amenities, but was surprised that there was no alarm clock or pedestal for our luggage. Wyndham used to be one of the reliable chains our family trusted, but now the joke is, “Wyndham no longer requires us to…” whenever something goes wrong.
First let me preface this by giving you some background on my point of view. I stay in motels about 250 days a year as I travel for work. I have been in a LOT of motels over an almost 30 year career. I hardly EVER leave reviews. I felt I needed to with this Days Inn. I am willing to overlook a LOT. As long as the mattress is not obviously scummy, no bed bugs and a good hot shower, I'm happy. Almost EVERY hotel at any price needs a deep cleaning, they ALL have dirty corners, bad spots on the carpet and dings and scrapes on the walls etc. With all that said on to what made me write this review. When we arrived the toilet seat was broken. As in you can't even sit on the toilet. It took 2 full days to have that repaired. A tv with a bad spot in the screen, no biggie. A hole in the bathroom wall from the door handle, no biggie. General highway noise comes with the experience. A full time tenant, blocking off parking spots with cones in a crowded parking lot? That's irksome and definitely not a normal thing. What the real issue is the front desk calling after the man finally came up and fixed the toilet seat, to say the room hadn't been paid for and they needed money immediately. Despite the fact we had a receipt. Then the story changed saying we hadn't paid for the last day. Despite the receipt clearly showing the dates were correct and the amount was correct. Then they tried to charge to the card on file in the Wyndham account. That is what happens when the individual who runs the place is not competent. As I said I can overlook a LOT. Good management can make up for a lot of deficiencies at a property. Bad management is a nightmare and not what a working man wants to deal with.
My family and I will never stay here again! I’ve worked in the housekeeping industry for several years. I know what to expect checking In and out of a hotel. We don’t sleep on the duvets because most hotels only change them when they are really dirty. Anyway we brought our own blankets. Next morning we were leaving and I left all sheets and towels gathered to make the housekeepers job easier. As we were leaving the hotel my card got charged for $30 . I called confused because we left the room as neat as can be. The receptionist said we got charged because there was “urine” on the sheets. Mind you we slept with our own blankets! They were arguing saying it was their policy ! They were so upset I guess because I made their jobs harder and they weren’t expecting to change the sheets!!! There was also hair all in the bathroom and dead crickets in the tub. I could go on and on.
Not bad, not bad at all! Thank you for a restful night's sleep!.. Would give it five except that I save 5 stars for that which is, IMHO extravagant (where my wife over spends and I am left biting my lip to keep the peace). The amenities were appropriate and appreciated!
The room had a bathroom sink that was clogged, a bathtub non-slip layer that was peeling, a TV that did not display any dark scenes, and cockroaches. The employee and/or hotel computer did not allow me to have a top floor room, and at checkout a receipt was not available so it was supposed to be emailed but never was. I asked for no housekeeping but was told there is no way to make that request. Later, the hotel called my room early one morning to wake me and ask if I wanted housekeeping. During the total eclipse, an employee told people to get off the lawn, and bright spotlights were turned on.
Was present for a race in Nearby Ferris Tx. Days inn Ennis was very convenient for us to stay at. It was by far a better value than all the other places in Ennis. A swimming pool would be nice but it is a good place to stay
The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty darn good. But!. Period. There was not a hairdryer in the room. When I called to ask if they had one at the front desk, Alex, the owner, left me on hold for over five minutes. We finally hung up and called back and they said they do not supply dryers anymore, if you need to wash clothes, the washer does good. But the dryer you may as well walk out back and hang the clothes on the barbed wire fence. After two cycles at two dollars per cycle, our clothes were still as wet as they were when we put them in. And the dryer door does not shut without fighting with it. All in all the motel itself was nice as far as having a place to sleep. But when you get past that, it goes downhill fast.
I am a pipefitter and travel for work so I've been at many hotels and this one was nice. Quite hotel. Nice on inside. Great staff and no problems. If I'm ever in Ennis again I will make another stay. Thank you Days Inn.
This is one of the absolute best places for Airstream and vintage travel trailer owners. Each of the sites offer the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. Embedded among the oaks and cedars and locust trees gave me and my family an unparallel
This is a wonderful experience. You must try this at least once if you are in the DFW area. The flowers are wonderful to see and the scenic Texas small towns are fun to drive through. The only downside is there are no clear signs so you will have to
amazing food and great people!! iâll definitely be back again ð they suggested a secret menu item: brisket elote and it was to die for!! so good!!! they also had frozen margaritas and daiquiris ð¹
The staff greeted me with a warm welcome the moment I entered the door. The service was fast and accurate. My upside down Caramel Machiatowith 2 extra shots was deliciously perfect.
