Days Inn by Wyndham Airport/Maine Mall - Hotel in South Portland - 461 Maine Mall Rd, USA

Despite some bad reviews, my experience was good on 7/25. It looks like the hotel has been recently renovated. It was clean and comfortable. The pool was out of commission due to a crack but we were only staying one night and didn't plan to use it. The shower/toilet area is a little small would be one complaint I'd have but not much you can do about that. The breakfast area, despite being very large, was very busy and crowded. It was hard to get food. I would suggest having breakfast longer to stretch out when people go. The inside of hotel looks pretty good, now the hotel should work on making the outside landscape look better.

We had a Two night stay. After being out for the day we returned to find the beds were not made! That's housekeeping 101. Very disappointing. |No where to hang a towel by the sink. The floor had a gritty feeling. The staff was not accommodating. Upsetting

Hotel was easy to find. hotel staff was very kind and accommodating. The room was dirty when we arrived and smelled very bad. hallways smelled of weed, the upkeep of the hotel was rough. But when we asked for a new room, they were quick to find us one that was similar to the one booked and it was cleaner. Shower had good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast was good, simple assortment with a waffle maker. Not the worst hotel Ive stayed at, but certainly not the best either.

In town to work an event. Decent price so booked it over others. Arrived 20 minutes early before stated check in time but were promptly let into our room-wonderful right? No problem with the room basic motel but everything worked well. The room seemed clean but had a little smell of old and weed. There was a couple of people taking refuge from the sun at the back entrance of our door (I saw them again checking out 2 days later with a lot of belongings and realized they frequent the hotel). The day we were supposed to check out my husband had to leave very early for the event leaving me without transportation until about 1pm. We checked 3 times about late check out and were told “no problem”. Housekeeping started knocking at 10 am, 1015 and again at 11. I explained we were told I could stay until 1:30 they all accepted my request but then I got a call from “management” stating I must leave by noon. I left and sat in the lobby. I passed at least 20 rooms vacant but not ready for new guests wondering why they couldn’t clean these before kicking me out? The front desk was not busy and clearly uncomfortable with me sitting there waiting for my husband to pick me up. They offered to let me sit in the breakfast room in a straight back chair for comfort (where I couldn’t see them doing absolutely nothing. Breakfast that day was a joke…I barely got a cup of coffee and by the time I left at 1 pm hadn’t had anything to eat. I was in tears by the time I Ubered to the event myself after being kicked out of my room. I will never stay here again and go to Portland frequently.

We chose this location because it is close to the airport. The sleeping room was clean and the beds were comfortable.The sleeping room appeared to have been recently remodeled but the hallways were kind of rundown and needed work. The numbering system for the rooms is odd and we had difficulty finding our room at first. For example, there would be a room 1340 right next to a room 120. Strange.||||We had an early flight so we had to leave at 4:15 am and found the parking lot to be very dark at that hour -- there were iight fixtures out there which apparently did not work because no lights were on. But we were able to park close to our room and made it to the airport in a few minutes.||||There is no restaurant on site and no room service. We were able to get food delivery for dinner. ||||The front desk staff should be a little more friendly. ||

Would not come here again — worst experience I can recall in 25 years of hotel stays. We booked it after a flight cancellation, just needing a place to sleep and shuttles back and forth to the airport. We were told there is a 24-hour shuttle that would come for us right away. It did not. We waited almost an hour in the middle of the night, checking in occasionally, only to be told very rudely we must not have been watching. There is no traffic in the middle of the night at the Portland airport! We could not have missed it if we tried. We then were told at check-in that in the mornings the shuttle only leaves every hour on the hour, meaning we would have to leave at 4 am to be at the airport by 5. From an airport hotel with a “24-hour shuttle.” None of this was disclosed to us when we booked it — we really only needed shuttle service, so we had asked for specifics. It’s also not terribly close to the airport. Worst choice available!

Affordable pricing, close proximity to shopping mall and highway. Hospitality was good. Continental breakfast is what you pay for; make of it what you will. Our room was clean upon arrival. The toilet flushing system was very slow. I had to use a plunger on the second day. I didn't use the pool they had on site. One day, the power was out for about 4 hours due to scheduled servicing. We weren't made aware of that information, but it is what it is. I also brought my cat along for an additional $20/day. If you're looking to save some coins at the expense of other things, then this place is ideal. Again, you get what you pay for.

Bed was clean and comfortable, room smelled great. No carpet to get musty! Hot breakfast, small but I wasn’t expecting it so we were pleased. Price was right and would stay again.
