Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Duluth by the Mall - Hotel in Duluth - 909 Cottonwood Ave, USA

We have stayed here twice this summer and always travel with our cat (we don't live in Minnesota). I always phone to insure their pet policy includes cats. This time, the pet policy had changed in a different way, of which I was uninformed in advance. On checkin, I was required to sign a form that acknowledges that I am aware unattended animals cannot be left unattended in rooms, even in kennels. We were fortunate in our case that it was a cool night, so we left our cat in the car so we could enjoy dinner. Had it been hot, we would have to had my husband pick up take out and miss dinner at our favorite restaurant. They have also added penalties for those with dogs that bark. When upset guests complain, you will be charged the amount they refund upset guests. I understand their reasons, but they do have your cell number to call and as a guest, it's always been your responsibility to get yourself back there to resolve barking issues. I felt it was important that those traveling with their dogs be aware of this stipulation. As stated, we have enjoyed staying here, the rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfast good. We've always enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, this one-size fits all policy have excluded us in the future. No apologies necessary. Just thought others should be 100% aware in advance.

Wonderful stay at this Days Inn. In town as part of a road trip getaway and wish I'd have booked at least 2 of our 4 nights here. Quiet, clean, friendly service, great location, delicious breakfast selection, well kept (and working) pool & hot tub area with large windows and stocked with plenty of towels. Room was very nice - newer with standard amenities. Bonus: warm chocolate chip cookies at 8PM 😊

Newer facility in new construction area surrounded by fast food options. Clean. Our group had two rooms and when we stopped briefly back at hotel for quick showers between events, there was no hot water in either room. So, clearly it was a hotel-wide issue. Staff was really nice but when I informed them there was no hot water, they just said there was no issue they were aware of. We were in rush to make next event, so had to leave. They never followed up or offered any type of comp for having to take cold showers.

The only thing we were not happy with was not being able to check in early. I called the night before, stopped in the morning went to eat and came back at 12:45pm on Saturday the 31st. I mentioned that my Daughter was getting married & please to let us in something. My Manpanion had to dress in the Parking lot. We didn't get to check in until after the Wedding so it was about 11 or 12. The girl at the Desk was not understanding. But when we checked in I believe it was Oscar who was so very nice.

I give it a 4 because the handicapped room was way way back from the front desk. Otherwise it was fine. Room was clean and quiet. I was too late getting out for the breakfast so can not rate that. Thanks for not not not putting in a high bed like so many places have done!

I only give this 3 stars because the front desk people were nice and the chocolate chip cookies at 8 PM were excellent. The room layout of the double queen was horrible. The bathroom (tub/shower and toilet) was tiny and awkward. The shower head was at 5ft high and the tub nozzle sprayed water all over your feet and you were standing in ankle deep water by the end. WAY overpriced for the SUPER jacked up rate for a weekend stay.

This motel is in a great location and convenient to shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - many options (I just didn't like the texas toast - I prefer regular sliced bread). Breakfast closes at 9am on weekdays so for a leisure traveler, I thought that was early. Overall, stay was great and I would stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

Positive: Check in was quick and the location was convenient. Negative: Was very expensive for the experience. The breakfast was all cooked in microwaves and the room heating and cooling was very loud and hard to adjust.
