Very unique area trails abound for horses bicycles and walking and of course dog walking There is a $7 per day fee for trails and for camping you can camp here for 14 Days. On another note this is actually a historic site There still stands a 2 story concrete structure that's completely fenced in with no trespassing signs. In it Was housed a nuclear reactor the intention being to build the first nuclear aircraft. President Kennedy put a stop to that nonsense in 1962. If you're looking for some radioactive isotopes this is the place for you, Just kidding.
The Dawson Forest is a great place for outdoor adventures like kayaking, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and more. I’ve kayaked the Etowah River with the Georgia Kayak Fishing Club. Check out the group on FB for more trips. Amazing experience with great friends! Side notes, don’t trash this place. If you pack it in, pack it out. Always wear a life jacket on the river.
Camoing us available here for self registration fee of $7. Beautiful pine tree area with plenty of room and hiking.
Great place to hunt, hike, and ride horses
It's a great river to kayak! Highly recommend. 1. Water is moving at a good speed. Not too fast, not too slow. Just the right speed for people to move forward and enjoy the scenery at the same time. 2. Enough shades by trees that you dont need sunscreen. I forgot to out on sunscreen and I was worried bc thats one of the most crucial part when ur kayaking. But, they had enough trees that covers the river trail most of the time. 3. Very quiet and calm river... Two things I didnt like about it. 1. River doesn't seem to be clean. 2. Spiders. If you dont like them, dont go near the sides, or branches that are sticking out from the sides.
This is the 10,000 plus acre home to the old Nuclear Aircraft Research Facility. There are lots of trails, unpaved roads, and "woods roads" that are great for riding mountain bikes, horses, and your favorite car, truck, or Jeep. Check the maps for the roads and trails. We were there during nice dry weather. I would be careful getting off the main roads without 4 wheel drive in less than perfect weather. Shoal Creek road crosses the creek. The water appeared to be around 16" deep at the crossing spot, but is subject to change anytime. We had a great time. When we went, there was a $7 per person, per day trail use fee that can be payed at the main parking lot.
To access the trail enter from North using Dawson Forest Road. Parking available at horse parking. The Red and blue trails are not connected through the bridge.
It's peaceful and beautiful! I enjoy kayaking, so I am able to see a lot of wildlife. I've seen river otters, deer, bear, turtle, snakes and beaver. PLEASE DON'T LITER. THESE ANIMALS DONT COME TO YOUR HOME AND LEAVE THEIR TRASH. SHOW THEM YOU CARE! PICK UP YOUR TRASH. THIS INCLUDES CIGARETTE BUTTS!

We were driving through and stopped for brunch. The food was wonderful and the owner sat with us at our table and made us feel welcome. Everyone was so nice and we look forward to coming back again.
After hiking approx 5 miles in a thunderstorm, the inn was a welcome place. We were able to sit in a nice community room with heaters and dry our clothes. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. Our room was tiny but
We accidentally came upon this gem! Spent a couple hours and thoroughly enjoyed it - 4 of us. We were in Dawsonville camping and had a great time. Loved learning and seeing all the memorabilia in this cool car racing museum!
This trail is for the beauty, the rushing water, the super rugged terrain and the opportunity to connect with and experience nature. Not the place to go for exercise! Itâs too treacherous! Go here and sit on large rocks on the middle of the river.
Voted best breakfast for Dawson County for 2022... @big.reds.biscuits in Dawsonville did not disappoint. I knew the biscuit was going to be good as soon as I had a bite of the BISCUITS & GRAVY because most places have ZERO flavor, but not here!! The
This place is really close by from the outlet. Maybe because I'm hungry after shopping around but the food is really good! We ordered Rad Na, Tom Kha hotpot, and Green curry. The ladies are really nice and they sell some merchandise too. I'm surprise
Service is usually good at Waffle House but this location had an outstanding crew. Waitstaff was excellent! Food was very good as is the overall value. I didn't have a waffle this time but still highly recommend them. Can't beat the hashbrowns.
Good place to eat. Food was amazing. My almost 2 years old loved French fries ð. It was good and crunchy. As well as delivering load was good 53' reefer and truck with sleeper needed to back up see photos. Fries and burger was around $18.@@. Work
The food was good, and the team serving drive-through did great. We were not rushed to order, and they were very helpful with choosing. Thank you. My daughter doesn't like the food here, and it's usually not good heated up. So if you are ordering her
