A very small park. Old stone structures. Covered bridge. Views of the railway. Rock formations. Waterfalls. River access. Quarries. You can spend maybe one hour here. Rocks are spray painted.
Quaint, somewhat hidden park (with a steep driveway) was pretty empty during my cold, rainy December stop but beautiful none the less. Nice trails, bathrooms were locked up.
Warning... No restroom facilities! Like another has commented, not a large parking area. Nice city park, didn't research anything but by the appearance of the buildings, it's an old park. Guessing David Fortier donated it back in the day. We only took one trail as anything with a lot of steps is too difficult (fused ankle). We encountered 2-3 such areas so we were limited. We didn't find a map at the trailhead or flyers with trails identified, but there seemed to be more than 3 (at least one is likely to be a loop). 2 children were wading in the area of the shallow river, seen from the 1st bridge we encountered. (Signs say no swimming...) We brought/ate lunches & played board games in the pavilion as the other picnic tables we saw (only 3) weren't shaded enough. There are only 2 tables inside the pavilion. It was clean (well, we picked up a water bottle and a meat pkg along our walk).
This place was more than what I expected. The small but cute Olmsted Falls was there, with a walking path that lead to a shelter house and restrooms, that unfortunately was closed due to winter, a few more small waterfalls, bridge, and covered bridge. Luckily it was a pretty decent March day and not too cold to explore the place.
I liked this park a lot. It's small, with not a lot of available parking, but it's also very 'charming' and beautiful. You're never far from the Rocky River and it has a few small but, again, beautiful waterfalls. If you are with a small group, or alone, and are looking for a quiet meditative place to spend some time, this is a good place to go. Pros: Small, quiet (you are close to the airport, however), meditative place to spend some peaceful time. Cons: Parking is sort of limited. Access could be limited if you have some physical disabilities. There is a lot of climbing on uneven rocks if you want to go exploring.
The park is very well kept. There are a few trails that take you great views when the water level is low. The rains can make water level high and not much to see as most of the massive quarry rocks would be submerged. There are no rest rooms or eatery here. You could walk your dog here too as many have passes me while exploring this park. The fall season and spring are the most colorful here I would guess. There is a walking bridge above that you have access walking towards the bridge.
Took a trip to Ohio for family, and this place was so beautiful and peaceful
This park is a hidden gem. Great place to go and relax have a cup of coffee. Listen to the birds and watch the changing season and different colors that God created. Very peaceful place to sit and have a cup of coffee.
