Nice local spot that's very clean and friendly. Nice married couple open this hidden gem . Had the pleasure to chat with the two few days ago while waiting on my order. The food is made fresh and has that home cook meal type of feeling. My family enjoyed the meal I brung home . It was very delicious and flavorful. BBQ melt right off the bone it was so tender. I will definitely visit this spot again soon .

The fried fish is perfect, the special Mac and cheese best ever had!!! A wonderfully crafted cheese sauce that will make your whole face smile. I will be returning several times to try their whole menu, unbelievable goodness at this cozy cafe.
Small place good food it's next to chalmette high school so don't go during lunch lol the owner(I think) came from the back to tell us items not on the menu. He was great!
Chalmette always brings me back to my mom fixing my brother & I a hot plate when we were children. Dat Kitchen got love in their food, you can taste it.

Love this place itâs always a Pleasant experience. You have a variety of things to choose from. Teas, Shakes, Coffee, or Hydration Drinks. Love that I can get a dry tea and take them out of town with me to have.
