D&W Fresh Market - Grocery store in Grand Rapids - 1814 Breton Rd SE, USA

Today will be my last day shopping at D&W Fresh Market for quite some time. The store renovation has stretched on for months, with today being yet another complete reorganization of products. I couldn't find what I was looking for and threw my hands up in frustration. Maybe I'll be back next year once the year of perpetual reorganization is behind this store. D&W Fresh Market is a nice place to shop. The selection is generally good. However, no bulk foods section. Great selection of gluten free foods. Butcher is very good. Produce is fine The highlight of Michigan-produced foods helps people wanting to support local businesses. Service is always attentive by the active staff members.

This my favorite D & W. Extensive deli, seafood, butcher, produce, etc. All are well stocked and maintained. Seldom a line for checkout. Also a Starbucks and a working Coinstar. I wish I lived closer.

Solid full service grocery store. Really good deli, butcher often has good deals and the meats are really good quality. Bulk goods, specialty stuff, good produce with a lot of organic and local veggies. Nice beer wine and liquor, not the hugest selection, but covers all the bases and most liquor is state minimum price. Yeah its a little more expensive, but the basics are all there when you need them. Staff is always helpful too.

Update: emailed customer service with no response. Spend the extra money and go to a quality store nearby. I was going to their deli once a week. No longer will I go here. For some reason, when three certain employees come out of the kitchen and see me standing there. I'm not recognized. They typically walk to the back counter or onto the floor. I have to say, can someone help me? Most of the statements made to me by these certain employees are what do you want? Enough! Customer service needs to change. I spoke with the assistant manager, who took down what had happened and was told that Andy would call me. No call. Going on a week now.

Went to grab some hot service food, since it is about 9am I was hoping to find a couple things ready. However when I arrived, I discovered the most filthy food service wells I’ve ever seen. I questioned the worker and was told they are cleaned every single day. Yet these photos were taken weeks apart. I also have taken photos of these food wells every single day for nearly 6 months. I will be contacting my local health department before this place kills someone.

This place was a good place to shop 10 years ago. Today we get nothing but dirty looks from the staff. The prices aren't competitive in fact they are the most expensive place to shop. Nothing is fresh either I have to dig to find something that doesn't expire today. They keep problematic employees with sexual harassment complaints from other employees and managers to even customers who walk out when they see said employees or managers

I had never been to this location before, but I went there to get Starbucks, and had great service there! Jocelyn, the barista, was super kind. So after I got my coffee, I decided to go look for a Father’s Day card… and passed by the cute home decor (dangerous) on my way to finding the cards, and I picked up two candles. Then I found the cards and picked one out, but at that point, I was struggling to carry my coffee, two candles, and a card, so all of a sudden, Jocelyn comes over and says “Do you need a basket?!”, with a basket in her hand already. At the time, I was trying to decide whether I wanted to buy fresh flowers, but not having the ability to hold anything else was keeping me from moving forward with it. Jocelyn definitely came at the perfect time for me to buy more from the store. 😂 but I REALLY appreciated that she noticed my need and came over and brought me the basket! It meant a lot, and I hope that she gets blessed for her kind heart and attitude today. (: the least I thought I could do was write a review for her! I will post a photo of my items, just to show how cute it is. 😁

D&W is a great place to grocery shop. I miss having them in Walker! What a difference compared to Family fare.
