Honestly, not much to see here - maybe because it was Sunday and the visitor center is closed weekends. You can walk down below the dam, just not really cool from that angle and can't see the locks in motion from there. I've seen docks from above and it's really neat seeing the water fill in... not so much here. They do have some covered picnic areas which was a nice break out of the sun. Be warned though, the stairs to the low ground do end about 3/4 of the way down and it's all rock and sand and weeds from there. May be some good fishing here though. Noticed there is a playground and park next to it, but it was too hot to adventure over. Maybe next time we'll come on a weekday.

Even during a historic flood this place provides beautiful photo opportunities. I grew up playing on the playground equipment in the park, watching soccer games and playing ball here and so have our kids. I do miss the barrel on the playground and the swaying suspension bridge!

We had my son’s BSA Eagle court of honor at the old post park. The pavilion we used was very nice and well maintained. We had access to electricity and water the restrooms were about 50 yards away that were fairly clean. Good park

It is the first time I come here. I would like to say that it is a place where peace and tranquility are breathed, but not. Today there was a party of black people, and they had the music too loud and shouted obscene words, without adding that the strong smell of "grass" could be felt wherever you were. The bathroom had urine all over the floor and worst of all ... there was no soap. Fortunately, there was a toilet paper. Definitely, I better left there!!!

Lovely day for a walk in the park. Gracie says the sniff fest is excellent!

Bathrooms never open. Beautiful view up top to watch the dam and has a pavilion you can have gatherings at. Catfishing down below has always been a big deal. There are port a pottys down on lower level by river. Would love to see this place revamped.

A nice place, but the cottonwood trees can be frustrating if you're having food out during the time of year when the trees let their seeds fall/fly around. Great place for the kids to play.
