This is the most unclean motel I have ever seen. There were 2 of us coming from 5hrs away for a wedding. I booked for July 19 & 20. I thought it was odd that they charged my card the full balance on the 16th. We get to our room & the 1st thing I see is a dead roach laying in the middle of the floor. The beds had been slept in, 1 had yellow stains all over the sheet, there were dead bugs and a toenail under the pillow. I pulled the bed away from the wall and it had about a 2 inch layer of dust/bugs/fingernails. The shower had hair stuck all over & there was a large patch of yellow slime on the wall. The tv & fridge were sticky & slimy. There was also a different guest's receipt from a month before laying on the floor. Went to the front desk to tell the lady we are not staying, she offered a different room. NO!!!-If you have roaches-they don't stay in one room. She got very defensive & refused to refund me for either day just because "your plans changed". Lady-we only decided we are going to stay somewhere else because this place is nasty! She said she would call me 3 different times to talk it over...I had to call her. The answer every time "let me talk to my manager & call you back" 🤬
Nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean, the price is decent and there has always been a room available when working in the area.
The only reason I'm even giving this place a second star is because there were three beds in our room which was nice since we have four people only one of which was a couple. The first room they put us in was dirty. The bed had been slept in, there was garbage in the cans, and towels all over the bathroom floor. The second room was clean. Except the shower had NO water pressure and the water was extremely cold. It cost 84 american which is even worse because I've stayed in much nicer motels for cheaper. Don't waste your money or time.
The hotel is dated, as are all tiny town hotels, but the rooms are large and clean, the beds are great, and breakfast is available. The owners were very accommodating as we needed 2 rooms for 2 nights for a family funeral, the type of thing you can't plan for ahead of time. And this was in the middle of pheasant hunting season. Their staff was kind and caring. The hotel met all our needs.
There was black hairs in the tub and the beds were very uncomfortable. The couch wasn’t the best either and there is an odd hanging light that could be a hazard to people over 5’2”. Our backs all hurt after that stay. And the place has a significant musty odor. Not the best hotel. Revise your choices before staying there.
I stayed here this past weekend August 7th. First of all they charged us $10 more than they quoted us when we booked the rooms for a family reunion which we had to call back and get refunded. We had gotten 3 rooms due to the amount of people we had staying. One room was on the second floor and the other two where on the first floor all in the new building. The upstairs room seemed fine at first. The shower curtain in our bathroom had mold and stains all over it. The rooms are dated and definitely not worth the price they charge. The two rooms on the main floor smelled terribly. The carpet was littered with stains. The bottom of the walls and baseboards were super dirty and discolored. You can tell that their entire first floor was flooded at some point and it was never fixed properly. The ice machine in the hallway has mold on the walls behind it. Next time when I’m in town visiting family I will drive the extra distance to Mitchel and stay at a hotel that actually takes care and cleans their rooms properly.
This hotel/motel is definitely needed in the area; however, I wish the owners took more pride in up keep. Having a hotel background my expectations can be high but I can also understand the ma and pa type of places too. This place was in desperate need of deep cleaning and just cleaning in general. The main office was worn with cob webs under the TV and stained walls that needed scrubbed to be beige again. We made check in simple for fear that anything else would have been a struggle. After going to our rooms, we took a nice trip to the dollar store for cleaning supplies. The room had dead flat bugs in the tub, the floor was not swept, the cobwebs on the ceiling had kept some spiders full, and our Clorox wipes were black after dusting the furniture. The front desk person apologized and after we had the room cleaned (by us) offered another room. We decided to stay in the one we cleaned. The only good thing was the A/C that worked great once our non-smoking room got the smoke smell out. My wish is that the owners take to focus on the motel and cleanliness as a main focus. Several rooms were unusable because the doors didn't latch with the only thing keeping them closed was a sheet tied around the handle. This could be a gem just clean it. Oh! The beds were comfortable tho so we slept well.
Place is very run down. Chairs and carpet cigarette burns all over. No drain plug in shower. Dead bugs on the floor. Outside grounds are weed infested. Live and learn. Check rooms before booking this place.
