Such a cool place to learn some history. The role-players are much more than role playing. They are historical subject matter experts who enjoy teaching. I watched as a young group of teenagers were fascinated by the gentleman running the printing press. It's so good to see that young people are interested in history. My personal favorite was the blacksmith. Go check it out. The donuts were amazing too.
I was there for Christmas in the village event, so that's what this will be reviewing.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by the number of Christmas lights (especially considering this event isn't free to enter). It's incredibly small and there wasn't much of anything to do.
The horse drawn transport was a nice touch, but the grounds are too small to get much enjoyment out of it and there not being much to look at.
Overall, it's a nice little thing to do if you're a local, but I wouldn't recommend it to those not already in the area and 100% do not use this as your main Christmas lights experience.
I go here every year with my family. It’s Kind of a tradition. I would 100% recommend this place for first time people. But if you have come before you don’t have to come again if you didn’t like it. But if you’ve never seen this before I would definitely tell you to go here. This place is very fun around the holidays except the trolley is packed but that’s just because people want to ride it so much. The best feature about this place is that they serve ice cream year round same with anything on the menu. Hope you decide to go here!
It was fun to learn new things from the 1900 hundreds. I'm always looking around to go to new places to bring my daughter. Kid friendly for sure!!
Beautiful display, a fun late afternoon and evening had by all in my group!
Went to the Christmas event. Wasn't great unless you like the old timey kind of experience. Was busy and tried to get on the trolley, in line I might add, and people were super rude and jump on when not in line to get on.
A fake miniature village on Dakota County Fairgrounds. Neat nestled in a very shady part of 360 acres of fairgrounds gives weary fair goers a rest area while consuming fair activities.
The Christmas village was so fun. And really affordable. Great family event!

Great coffee shop serving delicious coffee and bakery items. The waffle latte, flavored with honey and maple, was perfect with just a bit of sweetness. The blueberry scone paired perfectly. The outdoor seating area is so cute, and the flowers are
