This is a must go to for your dessert in Indian River! Portions are large and prices are great! Outdoes any other place in Northern Michigan for ice cream. Lots of places to sit outside, park is across the street - located right in the hub of town.
This place has been around forever and is a time tested tradition for generations of families that have spent summers in Indian River! The staff is really nice, they have a large outdoor sitting area & they’re just across the street from a playground / public bathrooms. Is someone in your family lactose intolerant or diabetic? They have dairy free & sugar free options!! It gets busy on weekend nights especially around any holidays so be prepared to wait in line. Keep in mind that it’s also only a block from the river so it can get a little buggy at night. Absolutely recommend stopping by the Dairy Mart on a hot summer’s day!

Decent ice cream spot, although they don't exactly do anything to distinguish themselves from other similar stands. A particular disappointment to me was poor signage indicating there were dairy-free options but not specifically calling out what turned out to be sparse options. I did like the seating available, though, and I got a pretty good sized chunk of brownie in my Oreo brownie sundae. (If I don't get good non-dairy options, I'm going big instead.)

I love this place! They have the smoothest and creamiest soft serve ice cream I've ever had! We go daily everytime we're here in town. Pups love the pup cups too!

We stopped at Christopher's Cafe on the way home for brunch. My honey had the chicken fried steak and corned beef hash and I had the meat lovers waffle! Absolutely delicious! This is definitely on our list to visit again!
