This is an old abandoned subdivision that was converted to a botanical park. Very peaceful. Walking/cycling trails. This park doesn't get a tremendous amount of traffic.
Aside from a couple of picnic tables and widely spaced benches, there are no amenities. Entry fee is honor system.
Pretty trail! Mosquitoes weren't horrible but definitely recommend bug spray. The trail was flooded in the NE corner (tidal wetlands) so keep that in mind.
This absolutely neglected park is an absolute gem. Both walking trails and bike trails. Park manager says the signs marking plants and trees are rumored to be replaced in the next two weeks, but bring an App or a book to ID everything. In some spots, after a rain, you can test your bug spray to see if it’s a marinade or a repellent.
AND then there’s DIAGON ALLEY. Very few people go there.
Natural trails, pretty lake area in one part and some limited access to the waterfront in another, most trails are wheelchair accessible. No beach.
Good for cycling and easy walking. Some interpretive signs along the way. Dog friendly. $2.50 per person paid in to an honor system box.
Mosquitoes are not bad in the winter months, but you may still want a bit of spray if there is no breeze as there are a few no-see-ums
Great place with great people. We always enjoy coming out here to pick up
Time to decompress or meditate, you found the right spot! There is a $2.50/person fee to enter. You can hike, bike, hop or skip. Most trails are shady and have a hard surface with cool interesting signs along the way. Tons of birding/wildlife and if you walk the long loop you will reach The Atlantic. You may also see alligators because of the brackish lake in the middle or a crocodile at the end. (Pass on swimming) Also, throughout the park are ruins to check out from the original plan. Restrooms and tables are available for a picnic
***Beware: if you don't have bug spray, go somewhere else!!! ✌🏽♥️ 🐊
Gorgeous walk/run/bike trails. If you’re looking for a place to run on vacay this is it. Bout a 2.5 mile loop just gorgeous. BRING BUG SPRAY! Lol
There was really nothing here to see. The scenery is nothing special and not even worthy of a photo. I saw perhaps one butterfly and some lizards on the ground. You might encounter a few occasional hikers but that's it. Spend your holiday in Florida elsewhere like the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

The room was great. No complaints on service either. But if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed evening on a balcony with a nice view, think twice. The view of the waterway was nice, with some stunning boats parked along it. The morning brought
