Daddy's Country Kitchen - Southern restaurant (US) in Acworth - 3485 Acworth Due West Rd #200, USA

We've been long-time regulars here and was hesitant when it recently changed owners. There was a 'learning' curve as new kitchen help got into the routine of mass food prep (it's a buffet style restaurant). We were not too happy the previous time but decided to try again. We were pleased with the food this time. We will continue to go. ( On this day it was chicken and dumplings and I prefer it in a bowl.)

We use to drive about 45 minutes just to come here. But they changed owners a few months ago. The food has gone straight down hill. We went there for the first time since ownership changed about 2 weeks ago. We lived their chicken. Would buy extra to take home for lunch. But, in this day the chicken was dark brown (almost burnt), but the inside had blood coming out of it. So we waited for more to come out so we could get some better made. I got 2 prices and it also was dark and had blood coming from it. We tried again today. The inside was done... but it was over cooked. The green beans taste like they were straight out of the can with NO seasoning at all. We won't be back. Tried to add picture of the burnt chicken but couldn't.

We’ve lived here for years and finally made it in to Daddy’s. Unfortunately it did not live up to the reviews, except the service. Our waitress was good. Upon looking at the reviews again it appears new owners took it over. My kid and I patronized in the mid afternoon during the week. To say we were disappointed, that’s an understatement. We should have walked out. The only thing I took multiple bites of were the chicken, Mac and cheese and salad. Otherwise everything else I tried was almost inedible. Everything was cold and dessert was soggy and cold. I recommend trying a different place to eat.

For a buffet, I will say that the food was fresh and delicious. However given the spatial restrictions, the offerings were pretty limited. It’s a cozy, clean, friendly atmosphere, just a little too cozy for my tastes. The dining room is tiny and to fit everything in, the personal space was sacrificed at great length. Great job for what it is though and as I said it’s good food in a clean atmosphere with friendly service, which checks all of the boxes on my list. If they had double the amount of space this would easily be a five star restaurant hands down

Let me tell you...my mother and I got there at the right time. As soon as we walked in, we turned around and it was out the door!! The staff was so sweet!! We were taken care of immediately once we sat down. The food was good. The greens were super tasty and hot. It is a very popular place to say the least! It is a neighborhood gathering place. The staff knew just about every person there by first name. To me, that's how you know a place is good. 😊

I went tonight around 5pm. No one eles was there. Walk into a completely silent restaurant which was odd. Before music would be playing. The food had been sitting awhile. The lettuce for the salad was all reddish from sitting so long, the beans were hard as a rock(under cooked) the rice was also hard. A couple came in made plates and wouldnt eat and left within 10 minutes. The cobbler you couldn’t even put your fork into it was so hard, the fried chicken was almost black and hard as a rock also. The fried cauliflower was straight soggy, mush. The wait staff would just stare at you and talk and laugh. It was very unsettling. Never would take the dirty plates, didn’t offer any bread. It is not at all how it use to be. I would crave going here. But not anymore.

This place is the best and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend! If your not the Boujee type that's looking for white table clothes but just want great food at an affordable price. This is the place to be! I love the breakfast buffet 😍

If I could give this zero.... I would. The only thing good was the sweet tea. Y'all read these reviews they don't lie 😭 the only good reviews are when the old owners were there. I would be embarrassed to bring my family here.
