Cutty Sark Motel and Historic Cottages - Motel in Virginia Beach - 3614 Atlantic Ave, USA

Stayed here 2 nights. The room was cozy and intimate. You can tell its locally owned and operated, which is great for the local economy. It's perfect for a couple who plans to stay out most of the day, and a quiet room to slow down in. We got a ocean view and it was so nice to walk out onto the balcony and see the ocean. The walk to the boardwalk was just a short 2 minutes. I didnt have any issues using the laundry, yes they charge but its a small price to pay when you're not home. The kitchenette was sufficient to have made breakfast had we chosen to. The staff were nice and allowed us to enjoy our stay without bother. The man who runs the front desk was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Just bring your own toiletries and coffee.

Room was very nostalgic. Coffee pot is in the room, but they do not provide coffee, and the office does not provide coffee. Otherwise it was a great stay. Next year we are going for the cottage rental.

The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The owner is sweet, polite and gracious. The beach is across the street from hotel and cottages.

Clean, restful, right across from the beach, very friendly, near really good restaurants, love love love this place 💖 have stayed here 3 times and the AC has always worked great too 😎

The positives are the phenomenal location in relationship to the beach. Literally a two minute walk from room to sand. The price for the location is good in my opinion. Has a small little heated pool which is also a nice little extra. It’s not fancy and kind of out dated in the rooms. Mattress’s need an update, do not know if I could spend a full week sleeping in one and still be able to move afterwards. Also seems like there are a lot of rules about everything. We had no issues with them but could see maybe a problem if kids or people in your party are loud. All in all I would stay here again depending on length of stay. Great little two or three day spot!

It has a super old school feel to the rooms. Nothing crazy or over the top. Nothing gimmicky. Simple. Loved it! Would stay again@

Never go to this place. When I walked in the carpet floor was wet. It also smelt awful. I went and opened the curtains when I was in there too and guess what i smelt. My childhood roach poison. The roach poison was also in the carpet. Once It hit i tried to fall asleep but then i feel something craw on my face. I turn on my light and see roaches everywhere (if you didn't know roaches don't like light thats why I only saw them at night) so my daughter freaks out. When I called they picked up but it was 12:00 at night and supposedly they didn’t have ppl working then. They picked up and did NOTHING. I couldn't get a hotel so we had to sleep there for a night. Once I packed my bags I go and put them in my car once i saw another person kinda freaked out. I asked what happened out of curiosity from my experience and they said once they woke up there were bites all over them. They also said there was major mold issues. Once I heard this I was done. After multiple homeless trying to talk to me at THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT, mold, bed bugs, and roaches (and a suspicion of mice) I start demanding for a refund when guess what… they don't do it. A “95” dollar stay also turned into 255 dollars for no reason. I spent A WHOLE DAY of my only 3 day vacation looking for a new hotel. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!
