Cozy location with good brunch options based mainly on bread. My equivalent of mushroom on toast was very tasty with a nice consistency of the topping sauce. I do wish there is a bit more of the topping at times.
There are several bread options including standards like sourdough and multi grain plus less common ones like pueblo. I got the seeduction slices and it tasted fresh.
Location is actually very cute, and is a character in and of itself. Only drawback is food comes out quite slow as popularity increases (maybe time to hire more!)
As a side note, I do believe that they open sometimes in the evenings for Art Walk or other events. Check out their socials for up to date information.
Wow… what a find!
Curious Toast Cafe is a counter-serve breakfast restaurant and coffee shop located in downtown Albuquerque at 718 Central Ave SW. It opened mid-July 2021.
The ambiance is eccentric and engaging. The seating ranges from couches to lounge chairs to traditional dining chairs at tables. There are nooks patrons can eat in spread over three floors (check them all out!), or they can eat in the main dining room. On the second level there’s a witch’s shop called Glitter Alchemy with witch-related items for sale. On every floor the walls and corners are decorated with art, of which some pieces are for sale.
I ordered the Roadrunner BLT for $15, which came with a side of fruit or breakfast potatoes. I chose the latter. The BLT consisted of green chile aioli, bacon, romaine lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes, and roasted green chile strips. I chose sourdough for my bread option out of the six options (the others are whole wheat sourdough, seeduction, gluten-free multigrain, pueblo, and tesuque).
The toast was delicious. It was nice to have the chile aioli and breaded baked chile as an addition to the traditional BLT ingredients because it added to an otherwise tame, traditional dish for a more interesting flavor profile. I took some of the meal to go and it wasn’t soggy at all when I finished it later in the day since the lettuce protected the bread from the moisture in the tomatoes. The dish didn’t feel too heavy even with the bacon, and I’m already wanting to try another entree selection. The side of potatoes was a nice addition; I’m glad the toasts come with a side to round it out as a meal. The ingredients seemed fresh and high quality.
The experience, meal, and ambiance equaled a 5/5 with no reservations in my book. I’m already wanting to return to show my other half this place.
The details put into the atmosphere and the food are unbelievably incredible. I was hungry and was told to calm down and quit woofing down the food. In other words, to savor the tastes. It was a good Idea and it was worth it.
Quirky old four story building, full of artwork from local artists. Excellent coffee and friendly staff. Plenty of room to bring laptop or journal or just read a book.
I absolutely loved this place! We were headed to the Farmer’s Market but were hungry and scared that the lines would take too long. After parking we saw signs for the Curious Toast and when we noticed it was in a historic house with a patio, I was sold! I really appreciated their acceptance of dogs almost everywhere. The esthetic was very artsy as you can see in the picture. But, I was most impressed with the menu! It was so creative and clever. Lots of different kinds of toasts - sweet and savory. I had the Disco Elvis with sourdough bread. It was delicious! Staff was all excited about the menu. Two patios! Seriously one of the best finds in Albuquerque!
What a wonderful find. Definitely want to become a regular here. Excellent service, really great coffee drinks with high quality ingredients, and the toasts are amazing. I ordered the Benj toast and I had a perfectly poached egg with high-quality ingredients and the Tesuque toast did not disappoint. Excellent service and a really great location in a historic building with quirky art. Shared with other businesses and community service organizations. An excellent addition to the Albuquerque milieu.
Second time coming here. First time was lovely. This recent experience was not satisfactory. My partner and I arrived and paid almost $40 for two plates, just for us to sit and wait 45 minutes for one plate. Out of politeness I waited to eat my meal thinking his plate would arrive soon. It did not, it took an hour for his (I had to remind the crew that his plate had not arrived after the hour passed)
We were disappointed as everyone around us received their meals before ours. It was very busy and the crew is always friendly but I feel that there should be more hospitality and preventive steps taken to avoid this issue for next time. We had to eat our food cold and left feeling very let down.
This space is highly underrated! Unique menu of toasts and coffees mainly, artsy and historic location, and with friendly and fun staff. A great stop during market season. Dog friendly!! A must do
And that's absolutely edible glitter on the toast ❤️❤️

ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT! This coffee shop had perfectly roasted and brewed drinks - the short dark & handsome had the perfect hint of chocolate, and the toasted campfire marshmallow was a balanced and tasty, not overly sweet treat. Charles was wonderfull
Stopped here while driving through ABQ, and I feel jealous I donât have a place like this at home! Super friendly and helpful staff, good menu, and a great vibe. There are plenty of outlets, good sized tables, and wifi. The coffee is delicious too!
This is now my go to coffee shop. Excellent coffee. Outstanding, friendly staff. Authentic owners. Such a welcoming and unique (VW themed) atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside and out. Clean restrooms. On my first visit I noticed the staff called man

I love coffee places that have a bunch of fun flavor mixes, and not the standard basic ones. This place has that. ð The coffee mix I had was Home For The Holidays (pretty good) and the Apricot Twist (AMAZING). I also love that the shop has a big s
I stopped in for a coffee and a blueberry scone. The coffee is probably the best coffee I have had in Albuquerque. The servers are friendly and the place is clean. The ambiance here is what you would expect from a coffeehouse.
Tried Little Bear Coffee for the first time yesterday. Decided to go for a cruise and came across this coffee shop. I was greeted and the gentleman that helped me recommended the LB Latte . I got it iced and it was so good. Today I stop there instead
Open at 6am and that's a great thing. I stopped in this morning for an hour or two of early morning work, a quick Zoom call and my first coffee of the day. Clean, quiet, comfortable.
