The food is good, and the location is fantastic. Be aware that they only take cash, and they do not serve alcohol. You can bring your own but know that they charge a corkage fee, whether you bring your own corkscrew or not. No one has ever clearly explained to me why such a fee exists. Why am I paying them to drink my own wine?
Upstairs with cozy ambience and street view. We had Milanese veal with lump crab and special seafood linguine. I’m a big fan of crab meat, so I really enjoyed them! Also everything came with large portion.
For context, over half of their patrons the night we were there were 70+ year old Italian guys wearing sports coats. Any place that has that clientele is certified excellence. Gotta get to this place if you haven’t been yet.. Amazing atmosphere, great food, great portions, and a great value. BYOB and cash only.
Cucina Vitale is a quaint restaurant that is not only cash only but also BYOB. The service was very good but needed additional help. The restaurant is 2 story and not easily disability accessible even on the street level. After seated the server brings a basket of bread with a tray containing olive oil with fresh basil and garlic, red pepper spread, and a selection of pitted olives. Entrées include a choice of soup or house salad. Overall, Cucina Vitale was a good experience and the food was good and tasty.
I was out celebrating an accomplishment by myself and man was this a treat! The beans 'n greens was just like my Great Grandma used to make, a farmer from the Puglia region. Caesar salad was fresh and delicious, and I loved actually tasting anchovy, although subtlety. Had a craving for chicken marsala, and I wasn't disappointed! The almond torte was light and airy, with just the right amount of butter cream to balance out. My better half will enjoy the tiramisu. My only complaint is that the tiramisu was a little on the small size for $12. Paris was warm and welcoming, taking great care of me! I'll be back ...
We had such high hopes after reading the reviews, expecting a quaint Italian restaurant with homely food. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, service was sorely lacking. We thought it was fine since it was quite busy and everyone seemed occupied. The environment was cramped and loud. The server, one in particular seemed to hold a personal grudge against the cutlery, constant and unnecessary clanging and dropping dishes in collection trays. Conversation was difficult, definitely not a great place for relaxing. The food is hilariously bad. Pasta was over cooked and under seasoned. Sauces were bland and seemed to have come from a can. The most flavourful thing in my linguine granchio, which came with lump crab, was the sun dried tomatoes. Prices were also on the high side for the quality. Extremely disappointed and really wished we had a better experience.
I don’t even want to leave a review, because I love it here so much and it seems to be more and more popular so that it’s hard to get in! Sooo be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! I don’t usually eat Italian out because it’s usually not as good as you make at home… but this is the place to eat Italian. I eat here almost every time I visit Pittsburgh.
I actually went here a few months ago and it wasn't that great, but I deleted that review because they killed it this time. The caesar salad was great, bread was fresh and crispy. The chicken parm sandwich was the best I've ever had. The lemon berry cheesecake was a star and the tiramisu was great as well. All of the complaints I had from last time were fixed. The service is also top knotch and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it.
My favorite restaurant!! Cozy, delicious, & quaint neighborhood spot. Sicilian style menu. I love this place so much. Recommend reservation as it is a small restaurant.

I don't know Italian food very well... I ordered what was on special that night and I loved every bite. Think we're headed back there tonight! ð And our server wrote out what I ordered so I'd know for next time. So good!
I was introduced to Cafe Notte by a friend a few weeks ago, and I'm thrilled that I was. The ambiance is reminiscent of a charming little dark bar with a captivating mafia vibe. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is awesome, and the fact that it

Our wedding ceremony at Heinz Chapel was lovely. The venue looked beautiful in the pictures, and the seating arrangement worked well for all our guests. The organist added a nice touch by playing Ave Maria during the ceremony. The team at Heinz Chape
