Crowne Plaza Springfield - Convention Ctr, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Springfield - 3000 S Dirksen Pkwy, USA

Rooms were clean and tidy. Front desk was welcoming and friendly. Stopped in the bar for food and drinks. Food was great. The bartender, Pawlos, was an amazing guy and on top of things. The hotel is in a pretty good spot geographically. Just off the highway exit and very convenient for travel. Located with decent selection of outside restaurants for more places to dine within walking distance depending on the person. A few gas stations within a minute or two.

Just stayed last weekend 8/30-9/1, 2024 in a Suite. It was nice and clean, but for the price I expected better. (PLEASE READ TO THE END, IMPORTANT INFO AT END). The cushions are wore out on the sofa, the dining table was wobbly, the plug-ins either wouldn’t hold my cord in or I couldn’t get it to go in, there is paint peeling on ceiling and window seals, AC unit woke me up every time it kicked on at night, in the bathroom a light looked like it could fall out of ceiling, there were a lot of water stained ceiling tiles and rusty metal pieces holding them up. I took picks if this stuff. Then we ate dinner at the Restaurant/Bar, I ordered steak fixed medium and my Wife a Horseshoe, and when I ordered hers I said it clearly she wanted it fixed “VERY VERY WELL DONE”. Well, my Steak was Rare, most times I can eat it, but this was almost to the point of raw and I left half of it, and my Wife’s food was red on the inside and she left the meat and ate the fries.The next morning at Breakfast in the Dinning area I got Scrambled eggs and Sausage Links. The morning before I ate there too and the scrambled eggs weren’t done both mornings, but the bacon was. This morning I ate the Sausage links and noticed after one bite that it was also red and not done on the inside. I cut the other one open and it too was red and not done. I pointed it out to the lady working , and she said sorry and that she has had several Guest complain and she has told the Chef, and he says it’s done and he is not cooking it any longer. She did offer to take it back and fry it longer for me though. I had an upset stomach for 2 days after getting home.

The hotel needs updating for sure. The rooms need updated also. The carpet isn't great in the halls or in the rooms. The TV is old at best. So is the furniture. No microwave in the room. The king bed was descent and the walk in shower was nice.

Definitely in disrepair. Thinking it to be more of a luxury hotel, it’s definitely lagging on that front. I’ve stayed here a handful of times and the most recent stay was probably the worst. Bathroom was falling apart. Roll out bed for our child was full of faux flower petals and coins, very dirty. Not to mention, our toddler scratched his ankle on a wire sticking out from the couch bed! It was a strangely quiet hotel overall in the hallways, which is probably overall good, but we could hear the noise above us at a point and the walls were thin beside ours. Ehh.. probably not overall a bad place but definitely has seen better times.

Very nice hotel; we had a pleasant stay. Staff was authentic with their politeness and wanting to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms & hallways were clean. We will stay there again.

The check in process was smooth and quick. The rooms are clean with a host of amenities. The staff is professional and courteous. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Requested some additional amenities |and they were delivered within 15 minutes. Overall a great experience and stay at this location.

This is an interesting hotel, in my experience. I attended a business conference with several co-workers. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My bed was comfortable as was my room (721). Two of my three co-workers indicated that theid beds were uncomfortable (too soft, sinking into the mattress in an uncomfortable way).|The couch was a nice touch for reading and working. I did find it odd that there were no alarm clocks or bedside clocks of any sort, nor were there full length mirrors in the room. I have never experienced that in a hotel. There is an in-room coffee maker, however all of the pods were decaf. Of the sixteen pods between our four rooms, there was only one caffeinated coffee pod. I would suggest checking that out upon check-in if morning caffeine is important to you. There is a Starbucks in the hotel, but the hours are pretty limited. There is also a small "pantry" type shop that would allow for purchase of limited goods.|We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel, but the hotel catered breakfast for our event and it was well done. |The gym isn't large, but it is clean. I ended up having to walk the parking lot areas because the treadmill wouldn't register my weight on it to keep it functional. This has happened at one other hotel. |Overall, this is a very well priced hotel and I will stay here again when I am in the area. |

Updated, but still dated. Desolate. Fairly clean rooms, not so much in the common areas. Exceptionally slow and drawn out check-in with no other guest around. Few guests at all, really. Kinda spooky. Checkout much more friendly and efficient.||Starbucks licensee in 2nd floor lobby. Friendly and courteous service there. Reasonable prices, too.
